It saddens me to read these comments about Jon being a lunatic. I find Reinkaos a very beautiful praise to going home. Watch the interviews with him: he is calm, bright eyes, steady voice. He absolutely knew what he was doing. That you don’t understand it doesnt justify calling it crazy. Reinkaos is a masterpiece and the suicide Jons way of returning to chaos. It is every mans right to deicide their own path and the majority is just babbling - their values not matching their actions. The story of Dissection is everything opposite from these common lies and deciete. From my point of view it is very wrong to say that Jon was religious; I’m quite sure he would disagree. The order was not about believing, but exploring. Ripping layers of the human being. I’m an American who has studied German (not fluent though) and studied abroad in Denmark (so I know a little Danish as well). The “j” in the other Germanic languages is pronounced like our “y.” So Jon is pronounced like “yon.” The “ö” is sort of like an “oo” or “ooh” (also kind of mixed with a “u” sound but if you say “oo” you’ll be fine). So “nödt” is kind of like “noot.” “Ei” is pronounced like the “i” in ice (and “ie” is pronounced like the “e” in “be”). So “veidt” is like “vite” as in “invite” or something. So altogether, “Jon Nödtveit” is something like “yon noot-vite.”
Titles change. 20 years ago, bands like Dissection and Naglfar were called blackened death because they mixed elements from both genres. This is before Behemoth and Belphegor got "big." Since then, the two genres have become more distinct. I agree, melodic black metal is now a better description for Dissection, but that isn't what they were referred to as in the early 2000s.
Researching Dissection always leads me to a great philosophical problem: can you separate the art from the artist? I fell in love with Dissection's music from first hearing (same with Emperor) but it was rather troubling to find out the biographies of the artists. Love their work to this day but like you said, fanaticism, regardless of which ideology it is for, can be bad
I don’t even think there’s an issue with the artist in this situation. He was very talented and we don’t even really know what happened with the murder. I think the gay man was sexually harassing them. I think he was a mentally vulnerable person who got into some dark shit at a young age (he started dissection when he was like 14 or something?), then went to prison which just worsened his situation, and eventually committed suicide.
I can’t get 100% on board with MLO or the violent side of Luciferianism, I see Jon as a committed adept in the LHP and Satanic magic. I was lucky enough to see Dissection live back in the Somberlain days as well as the rebirth days. I could feel the force, the energy emanating from him the entire set of that last show.

I think that you pronounce "Jon" as well as you can. Maybe you could try to don't pronounce the D in J. Just like you pronounce Y when it's in the beginning of a word. Ö is supposed to pronounce like the I in "girl". Just like Nirdveidt but with a British accent.
