Absolutely shocking from the weekender organisers. I've seen all the comments in the facebook group before the organisers keep deleting them. Absolutely shocking!! All about the money!!
Well I was there and totally agree with everything you said. I left about 12 on Saturday, it’s good to see RU-vidrs saying it as it is and not lying and making things up! So big respect for that! I did see you both at the weekender and said hi, wish I come over and shook your hand and told you I love the channel!! I chickened out 😂😂
Thanks for doing this video, being very new to the hobby it’s vital information for us newbies. More than being lied to you’ve been scammed out of your money. Saying somewhere has never been detected and then easily finding out it has for over forty years is criminal deception. A few of you should get together and take them through the small claims courts for your money back. On a plus it brought Holly doing more to camera, which I thought she was excellent at and would love to see her do more 👍🏼

Well done Holly and Grim for calling it out. We have all been to similar s**t shows where you find the never detected land has been scrubbed clean for the last 30 years or is simply too rough to even hack your way through. We are suffering an epidemic of dishonesty these days when all we want is to deal with groups that have a little integrity! I agree the Rodney Cook last year was fabulous and despite not finding very much , we were not mislead and the organisation was superb. Worst organised dig I have ever been to. Apparently they don’t make much out of the digs lol, they give most of it to the farmers and keep a small amount for themselves. B.S! First and last dig with these guys.
Yes I had laugh over that one what a crock 1st time Lloyd has ever said that I been on a few of his digs at best average some like the Peterborough by the A1 dig and Hollywell dreadful . Can't ever see me going to another one of his again.
This is why i dont do commercial digs. I do go with our non-commercial digs, a lot less hassle and undetected land. I hope your next outing is more pleasing. Bludicas detects not to be confused with Boudicca lol.

Well that certainly didn't go as we all hoped. Very nice to meet you and Holly. I must admit that's the first time I spent more time at my motorhome than I did detecting,I think I was in the field for around 6hrs in total,over 2 days. I was the one in the film with the 2 roman coins and that was really all I had 😏
I've been on one Boudicca rally before, last year North of Peterborough. A promise of undetected land only to find out on arrival they were there the week before. Stayed all day as I'd travelled for 3 hours, literally dug 7 holes all day, worst rally ever and never again! Funnily enough the admins disappeared on that one as well and there were no scrap buckets. Name and shame them I say, they are no good for the hobby.

Total respect to you both , Like you I am very disappointed with the weekend dig. I have voiced on their page , also spoke to the organiser on Saturday , no response really .
This happens all the time up and down the country, it is very bad for the hobby of detecting and many groups are just in it for the big money they make out of the digs. We have lost count of the amount of digs we have heard of where the land has been relentlessly detected over 10/20/30 years and we also know personally of local land that has been detected in the same way and the groups are still charging £20 every weekend for a day dig on the land and they have 60-80 people every weekend they run a dig. We won't attend organised digs because of many reasons and are far happier either on our own or just with a small bunch of like minded detectorists. All the best Wendy and Jon.

Just posted this on Boudicca rallies,I’ll probably get booted now 😮 and comment deleted. I’ve just watched the Grim Bleeper on RU-vid,him and his missus Holly are two fantastic people that I’ve never heard complain about any digs until now🤔 I wasn’t there myself so can’t comment but after watching the video and hearing the comments I’m glad I didn’t attend. They have no reason to lie they are two very well known and respected detectorists/youtubers,maybe admin could go and watch the video and then give them an answer in the replies.
Absolutely right Grim, my check list is what I stick with. 1, Are the organisers tried and trusted. 2, Are there suitable provisions available "Toilets, food, entertainments" etc 3, Good atmosphere and ample room to meet with others. Anything after that is a bonus. See you at RCM & Detectival Hopefully.
Like you, I had been looking forward to this event for months, what a let down it was. I've been on day digs with these guys before, and the finds have been pretty good, but I left this one on Saturday night with a cut half as my only decent find. Gobsmacked that they legged it before the event ended
Thanks for puttung this out there. My first and last event with this group too. The level of misrepresentation is tantermount to an act of fraud in my opinion. I felt like I had been scamned, along with evryone else I spoke to. Ive only got this expierainace to judge them on but left feeling that they are dishonest, unempathetic crooks. Happy detecting

Unfortunately guys more and more events are going this way, there now businesses for some and there only in it for money, it’s no longer gold fever, and now cash fever, I done a weekender a few weeks ago and it was identical to your experience, fair play for calling it out and not sugar coating it for brownie points 👌🏻
I got blocked from that group months ago for questioning why they were charging top price for already detected land. All about the money so stay way clear.
If they left with patrons still at the venue, then, I’d imagine that their event insurance folk would like to know about this…that’s likely a breach of contract right there!

I went to this shit show , me and 3 mates , £400 with tickets and fuel ,6 hour round trip , left Saturday morning ,total rip off, got deleted from the group for saying what I thought of it , they want hanging out to dry ,he should do the right thing and re emburse people's money,first and last time I'll be going
I was due to go on that dig, I'm glad I couldn't make it now, weekenders are hit and miss detecting wise sometimes, I prefer the socialising on the evenings. A little note for future though don't really on other's for food always take some with you...
A good and valid video - while you probably prefer to make more entertaining films, this type of review is just (if not more) valuable to other detectorists, as it allows them to make informed decisions about if they decide to attend a dig organised by this group in the future. Until I see a stream of “10/10” and “5*” reviews, I won’t go anywhere near these clowns. Thanks for the honest report.
Completely echo what both you guys said but it was really nice to catch up with you both again, all be it very brief. A few of us did manage to get on another dog today and all 8 of us had good finds within a few hours so it saved the weekend. Oh and cheers for the plug again Lucas 😂 love that pic!
I’m new to the scene and have just signed up to my first weekend - sad to hear about the experience you guys had. One comparison I would make is with the Obstacle Course racing scene which was so popular pre-lockdown. Several Mickey Mouse companies popped up because they saw the money they could make and then provided really sub-standard events. They’ve all gone now because people voted with their feet. It’s such a small community that this company will reap the whirlwind I suspect.
I agree it's great to be with people who have a passion for detecting and have a talk at night about the hobby with like minded people, but I stopped going to these mega weekenders a long time ago. Just stick to my permissions. When there's loads of money involved it usually goes tit's up.
This is why we stopped years ago and don’t go to rallies anymore. All about money making and treasure hunting in a stupid scale. This went on for years and years, too many people raping the land .They should be banned or licensed properly. It’s a shame too see this great hobby come to a state like this
I honestly think these big group / club digs are a terrible idea for the hobby anyway. On potentially good sites they just decimate the finds on an almost industrial scale. Unearthing history should be more measured and done with respect. Unfortunately where there’s a quick buck there’ll be more ‘events’ gang banging the fields like this .
Its all about the money, big business these days and when you look into the background of certain groups and the organizers, they have it all sown up to benefit themselves and there chosen few. Having said that there are some good genuine ones , but the bad outnumber the good sadly. Not been to a rally in years , my last one was nearly thirty years ago and remember the organizers had sown hundreds and hundreds of roman coins and artifacts , sorry you dig was bad guys , good job you have your own places to go

Often hear of people putting events on "undetected" land...yet some one on the dig or a local will tell you the truth, I'm off to just detect this year, i heard good things about there events, and have seen video's of the 3 spires dig of 2023 so i am hoping i will not be disappointed, the bars and live events, plus food stalls all look awesome too. Hope to see many of you there. 😊
I can see where this one is going ! I totally get that people want to ' just get out' but I feel very strongly about groups reccying ground , just a bloke for a few days seeing what's about , and a general chat to the farmer or people in the area , just to get a feeling of the place & the ground before getting a load of people there . As for all the other stuff that went on , it sounds a complete shit show . Great clip , keep your chins up you guys have found some cracking stuff . Lastly Ive reccied land for a few local groups around Devon/ Cornwall , and they have refused to run digs if there's nothing coming up or the grounds crap

you are too nice. once you realized you had been scammed should have gone "old testament" on the scammers. seems like thats the only way people learn about consequences these days. show up with a 10 pound sledge hammer to politely ask for your money back. but i don't know how it is over there. in the U.S. what i suggested might be a little illegal, but so is scamming a group of people out of 20,000. and times are tough right now. sorry for the long post. love your channel so thank you for posting these vids.
Unfortunately, this seems to be becoming more and more regular. If groups had admin staff as dedicated and honest as you guys, then there wouldn't be any issues. Keep up the good work, and better luck next time

I’m blocked from their page now for a comment which wasn’t even that bad. The previous dig I attended with them was a weekender at Monks wood. Been detected to death. I went on the Saturday and the same fields were used on the Sunday!!
You forked out a lot of money for this so called 'event'. Is that an average price per person/ per weekend (had they provided what they promised) it seems high to me?
Was a bit of a mess wasn’t it. It is a fantastic area for finds, but had been smashed by other clubs in the past. I was going to come and say hi to you both, but I was a bit shy 🤣 Unfortunate about the digging etc. better luck on your next outings
Totally get this, I've been on many a dig that the organisers have lied about. Money hungry bandits are prevelant throughout the detecting world. You guys are 1 of the 4 channels I watch, keep up the brilliant work guys and if you get a chance, check us out, Heavy Metal Detecting. Cheers paddy

Sounds awful and gave up on rallies ages ago through going to some as bad as this. Some who organise rallies are just out to make as much money as they can. If they cannot even provide the basics such as a food stall and water they not worth going to. Tell it like it is and good luck in future
All we see here is only a 1 side of a coin. I would like to listen to other side too, to draw my own conclusions, but unfortunately u guys gave us no chance , so yeah...
I have been to a few digs organised by this group and it has always been fine. I see a lot of contradictory comments on the group and I think in a way the herd instinct has kicked in and people have started to hate each other. I'm not defending these guys, because I just wasn't there, but it would be fair to have a public discussion with the organiser and hopefully a solution to settle it up. Incidentally, I was supposed to be at this weekend'er event, but chose to go on my own permit. kind regards
