The origin is kinda funny. I was doing these tournaments on my own, and a friend wanted me to record them so he could watch (Quasit is one of his designs, actually). So I recorded them on OBS and uploaded them onto a second channel where my old twitch vods went (haven't streamed there in ages). I was watching one back and saw this, and thought "I could throw this on the main channel, why not?". And then it blew up, because funny youtube algorithm.
@@hesya5400 Kind of? Most properly run tournaments gather submissions from a larger group of people, 1 per person, with specific restrictions set up at the beginning, with a max material cap. Therefore, everyone's design knows exactly what it will be up against, and usually everyone is very close to the material cap. One day I'd also like to run something like that. What these tournaments are is a somewhat close range (for example, 25-50K) of my pre-existing designs, run mainly so I can see how the perform in combat and find flaws. If you watch the full recordings, you'll occasionally here me say something like "X isn't working right, I'll add that to the notepad here", I have a file where I keep track of all the things I want to fix. Anyways, all these designs existed anyways, and were mostly created by me or Skovymation, my old co-worker who got me into the game 4 years ago. I have so many because I want to make a custom campaign. I should have a demo out in April.
