Hi Steve & Alex. Another lintel and another great job. I am no brick layer but I am a painter and decorator that pointing looks like it was painted on. Yet and again you two go above and beyond by doing more of the pointing. But you got to stop somewhere. Looking good as alway 👍

Great job guys, really impressed with your solution to that lintel. And it looks like you managed to get a nice finish at the end too. It's a wonder how anyone would think it was OK to put that lintel in the first place, I know building control can seem a bit over the top sometimes but when you look at things like that you can see why they're needed.

Shocking pointing Steve

I woulod have run a brush along the top of the white wooden window frame to make the pointing a little less contrasting.

The lintel kings strike again, great job! Is the internal lintel timber? There´s blocks laid over it? What about the upstairs floor, timber or other material?

I’ve had a question mark over this type of concrete lentil for a great many years…. A lentil that is a flush finish in a straight line with brick work ( weak) thank you for answering that question?… nice one guys…. Learn a little every day 😁🔨🍺🎉💥

That previous pointing was "absolutely shocking " as some would say

I would have put sheet ply under band stands there for protecting patio slabs when breaking out brickwork it’s easy for lump brickwork to crack patio slabs

Just to point out the timber has serious signs of Wet rot and could develop in to dry rot. I would always treat these signs with a dry rot fungicide, at least a spray on the surface and see if you can peace a vent or two in the rebuild.

In those days the pointer got paid on the number of linear yards carried out, so to do the max the work was skimpted

👍 like your channel just a question if I ever run in to a job like your doing now if beded the concrete lintel and and put a lent of brick reforcememt under the solider and over to more courses what you think, O one more thing do you think I should buy blakes profile love the way there work but with saffoding boards in the way when setting up on saffoding or do you think get aluminium profile with the clamps you can get now I don't 😌no what to do I am using 2 6ft level and there doing the never used blakes see 1 bricke on site with them but he had them trun upside useing the new clamps out this bricklayer was up his own ass so wouldn't ask nothing 👍

I'm not a brickie, so I'm probably talking poop....But it didn't look like the right hand end of the lintel was sat on much (when compared to the left)? Wouldn't it have been better to cut a groove/slot and put the "tray" in to that, as opposed to simply silicon it on to the internal blocks? Also, where are your weep vents/drains for the tray?

Also runs off erbauer batteries from Screwfix both owned by kingfisher

Keep seeing guys working like this and not using a small tower scaffold. If they fall backwards, they could well end up in a wheelchair or, worse, for sake of a few extra pounds on the job 🫣
