Here I am commenting just to say what's been said 100 times. That Gyruda match... that's what I love watching, what a game! Magic can be really fun when you're not seeing just mono red. And the match after that as well. The opponent almost getting something good, probably thinking he's doing better, just to end up losing next turn in a perfect 20-0, damn.. Those were some great games, I haven't played magic in years, but I still love the game and like watching all these videos. It's super cool to watch all these different decks that are too big brain for me. Honestly if I was playing in your stead, I'd lose all of those..

I believe you can do the sack-on-the-stack thing without activating full control. Because Woe Struder's ability always holds priority hence it asks you to resolve every single trigger of the stack. I might be wrong though, and in doubt it's always best to be safe and activate FC for sure. Great games! Watching this video was a pleasure!

Something in the throat / a tickly feeling there (prompting cough) is how I felt when I had coronavirus a couple weeks ago (live in Brooklyn NY), make sure to get plenty of sleep, refrain from alcohol for the present time, and get your Vitamin D! I made it through and 20% of NYC is estimated to have had it and 99.5% of us have, so keep your chin up.

Lurrus cycling is legit. I've been playing r/w, but saw that 2 jeskai lists did well in last night's Magic Fest Online Qualifiers. They played 4 Improbable Alliance and 4 Ominous Seas as the blue cards, and cutting 8 1 mana cycling cards. Blue does give you some nice sideboard options in Gust and Dispute, but thats a lot of cycling cards cut.

Played a similar build (Mogwai's) with Corpse Knight and Beast Whisperer, draw and drain / gain when casting a creature, draw and drain / gain when they did as cast for zero. Was fun! (See Jim Harris' comment below)

In a less unfair/strong way, I found good use of the X cost creatures with mutate, they are a good flexible base and the counters add up on the creature you put on top.

Shane Dobson me too man. I finally was able to put together an azorious deck I found on here minus the lands and I get wrecked all the time. I feel the grind in this game is probably the worst of any game I’ve ever played. You grind with a crudy deck u put together and suffer through losses just to get gold and when you finally build what u thought was a competitive deck, you get matched against other competitive decks that blows yours away. I hadn’t played in a long time, started again just because of some friends who all jumped on and we play against each other. But the grind to get cards is pretty horrible and defeating

@@aortenzio I largely agree. But, I started playing regular MTG irl the same day I started playing this. And aside from Card Kingdom, the grind to get good cards in Arena is easier than irl. At least I can get new cards for free on arena. But I feel you, if you're willing to drop some cash to buy individual cards irl, that's much easier.

I've been tooling around with updating this deck as well. I'm wondering what you think about Lurrus in here as well, not as a companion. It lets you cast the X creatures from the graveyard, basically for free every turn.

In case this was part of your reasoning, it's an Arena bug for Lurrus to be able to cast them for X larger than 2, since Lurrus mentions the cmc of the spell (which counts X) rather than the card (which defaults to X=0). See gatherer rulings here: gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=479746

Literally read the gatherer rulings I linked. It's the third one on the list. The CMC of a spell on the stack (or about to be placed on the stack for the purposes of checking legality) includes X. EDIT: I'll save you the click. For spells with X in their mana costs, use the value chosen for X to determine the spell’s converted mana cost. For example, if a permanent spell costs XW, you could cast it with X as 1 but not as 2. Only edit I made from direct copy-paste is "Variable Colorless" -> X and "White" -> W

I may be wrong @covertgoblue, but I'm pretty sure you can avoid trample damage with Ugin's Conjurant. You may have been able to buy yourself one or two more turns once that Mammoth came down.

Nah, the Mammoth still deal excess damage as any trample usually does. The difference would be the Conjurant only taking pseudo-1-damage. It does not prevent damage like fog spells.

I've been playing Indatha colors for a while and you shouldn't be afraid to go over 60 cards to fit in scorpions and flash Vivien. Lurrus is also pretty nice. (My opening salvo of packs gave me four Indatha triomes, luckily.)
