I am amazed at each person's attitude and storage of cigars. I, myself, love to store each and every cigar out of its 'plastic' wrappers and let them meld and age together! Wow, nothing like pulling a Pedron 1926 out of the middle of a pile of Avo Xo and Ashton Cabinets and smother myself in the best smoke possible -- after aging them for 5-years, and ofcourse rotating them on occasion. Man, this is what life is all about!
We need to start a worldwide pushback against these horrid warning stickers, they are vandalous and ineffective; if they must, a simple text warning on a lower corner of the card sleeve will suffice, but as things stand today, it has become intolerable.
Yes, you are absolutely correct! It's just yet another communist plot to stick more "BS" in our heads. In the states, we also have a communist state called "California" where everything and anything has a cancer warning on it, and I mean everything, from baby diapers to water cups -- to HELL with California and their communist political takeover.
@@Cyclingmasterseller I noticed that too, the one time I ever stayed in a hotel in California - warnings printed on the wall "this hotel is known to give you cancer" I was thinking to myself, "what the Hell?!"
I really like your set up, I am a big collector/smoker of Fuente, Davidoff, Padron, and Cuban cigars. If possible could you let me know what cigar cabinet you have? I have a couple of aristocrats now but since Bob the owner has stopped building them I can’t make a decision on what to get now. Any info on your cabinet would be great thank you. Hope all is well
Awesome collection you got there! What humidor is that? Im looking to buy bigger one for myself and that looks like one that shouldnt fill up right away
Excellent collection! Couldn't do the Talisman or 1966 price point at the time and now I wouldn't for what they are going for. I see now though that I should have sucked it up and made the investment. Grand Reserva is the same...
Adeadbanker Isadeadwanker thanks! I agree, I’m very tempted to get some more actually haha. But I’m running out of space to store them! It’s always good to keep trying things to test your pallet and see what else you might like i guess is why I have so many others. -Nate
In the US, you can walk into well-stocked tobacconist and buy a box of AC tempest; Cigar Aficionado has another vitola of that blend in the top 10 for last year. The genesis size, with a quick google, looks like the corona size. If you look around US sites, they might be able to get a box for as low as $100, before international shipping. I don't know what country you're in and what US businesses will ship there, though many US merchants are more than happy to take your money. That said, the US cigar scene (at least oneline) is really about the boutique brands right: Warped, Dunbarton, Dapper, Roma craft, in addition to Habanos. That is to say, I would recommend those brands in addition to Alec Bradley.
Thanks Arden, I’ll take another look and thanks for the info... in your opinion if you had to try 3 non Cuban cigars what would they be? I’m in HK so it is quite difficult to get non Cubans here, and American retailers generally are not setup to ship overseas for various reasons. -Nate
Asian Cigar Aficionados Tatuaje 10th anniversary, my father flor de las antillas. Padrón 50 years natural. Thought I’d chime in. Out of all those I would definitely give Tatuaje a try as they make some phenomenal cigars
Asian Cigar Aficionados check out Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust, Roma Craft, Crowned Heads, Illusione, My Fathers, Tatuaje and Plasencia. There are so many amazing sticks coming out of Nicaragua right now!
Awesome humidor and awesome video. I’m new to this and have a few boxes (non Cuban) that I want to age. So should I take the cellophane off. I’ve never gotten a decent answer. And it looks like most of the Cubans in not all don’t have cello. Thanks. And I know this is a constant topic
Hi Chase, I think most people would agree that it’s better to take the plastic off the outside of a box. If we’re talking about individually wrapped cigars I think it’s ok to leave them on ie some brands do this (alec bradley). I think the issue is that the plastic on the outside is not the same quality as that used to wrap individual cigars hence may have some smell that permeates in/out that would be best to avoid. -Nate
If you are aging, I would suggest you take the cellophane off the cigars. Your cigars, especially Nics will get a darker shade within days. I would also recommend taking them out of the cigar box to give them room, because I noticed mine stayed nice and light packed in there with the cello, but when I took the cello off and put it in the humidor, it quickly darkened up and the wrapper was bursting with flavor. I let the others rest more to let the tobacco meld. The only difference was no cello and more room. Hope it helps.
I bought those from a PCC shop in HK a few years ago. I’ve seen them recently for sale at a few Swiss online stores but they are quite dear... maybe CHF800 was the last price point I saw 6 months ago.
Is that the Remington Lite humidor ? CO got the Reagan and says it works great. I bought a Newair but without a fan there is large variance in RH and Temp between top & bottom. Even more pronounced if you pack it with boxes. Adding fridge fans helps a little but not much. It’s not suitable for a collection of 8+ boxes. Leibbher is much better but low capacity. Looking for a better option to store 10+ boxes. Any suggestions? Hope you guys are ok in HK. Stay free 🇺🇸
Have the same problem with my new air 300. Big RH and temp difference from top to bottom. They don’t get enough circulation with only one tiny fan. They need at least one fan that always runs or at least cycles on and off more frequently
Awesome collection brother. I recently bought a similar unit, both temp and humidity control. However I've been having a hard time keeping the humidity stable. It keeps ranging from 64 to 75 eventhough I have it set up at 69. Any advice? Thanks man
Hey dude, that a hard one... not sure how often you open it up and exterior conditions. I’ve noticed that even these units in a tropical climate should still be kept in a semi cooler room else its too much stress on the compressor. You might also wanna try a low tech solution like ton of boveda a packs at 65% inside which is what I’m having to do now unfortunately as well.
@@asiancigaraficionados7203 i actually tried something and its working so far, i put each 1 or 2 boxes if cigars in a ziplock bag with a 320 gram 69 boveda, added a digital hygrometer in every other ziplock and all showing betwern 65 and 69. Its been consisrent for 10 days so far...
Mazen Mitri well yes you can do that as well haha. I’ve actually bagged a lot of my boxes as well for added humidity control. Forgot to mention that too sorry ! The things we do for this hobby...
Thanks! I think I’ll hold on to these though... I can’t believe how hard they are to come by now. If a shop get any allocation they will usually only offer them to their very best customers. Facepalm.
Sweet collection man, you definitely have a pretty penny put into that collection and it sounds like your investing in some. Definitely get the bowls of water out of there and put a medium size Boveda 69 on each shelf, and the biggest on the bottom. No worries, no problems. Dont mix the humidity numbers...that thing is probably sealed really well so I'd recommend the 69 or even the 65, I heard from multiple sources that Cubans can get mold easier than others so they like 65 percent humidity. Boveda makes both, but the bowls of water could cost you thousands of dollars. Also open the door every day. Not opening the door often is a very bad home humi problem, they need fresh air.
Well, honestly I don’t recommend buying in HK unless you’re on the hunt for something hard to find and no other option. In that case HK is an amazing place for cigars. If you want to buy daily smokes I’d recommend online retailers, but do your due diligence to make sure the website are legit. I usually have them shipped to me and not had any issues with customs.
Byungduck Kim I’ll do a video about my humidor adventures maybe this weekend haha. This is a no name brand I bought from Chinese btb website alibaba.com and had shipped to me in Hong Kong. -Nate
Excellent collection! I am jealous. I share your love for the Trinidads. I’m not the biggest fan of the Dantes. Mine have had some construction issues. You really should try the Topes. Loads of sweet chocolate. I have the Supremos and Talismans, but it’s nearly impossible to find the 1966 these days. I only got one box of the Talismans. At the price point, I can’t justify multiple boxes until I have tried one.
My justification on the talisman is that since they’re Cohibas, I’ll be able to make money on them regardless in future haha. I don’t think I can afford to smoke them all anyway. Maybe give the Dantes another chance!
Asian Cigar Aficionados Ah, I see. The Cohiba Limitadas have always been good investments. I certainly will give the Dantes another shot. I still have several left in the box.
Kenneth Jensen I agree they are too young, but you’re not going to improve construction issues with age. So far, mine have been hard as a rock in the cap and underfilled. Possibly I got a bad box, but I expect more from a Limitada
Hello Sir! This is my first viewing of your channel. Great tour of your Treasure Chest. I hope that you removed the plastic shipping wrap from your Special Release boxes.
great collection bro never had a cuban in my lifetime yet but it sure looks like you love cubans great collection and great video bro keep it up maybe soon in my lifetime i will be abkle to smoke a real cuban!!!!
I’m not sure... no name. I bought it on Alibaba and had it shipped to me in HK from China. Cost about HKD4000, Shipping was HKD2000. If I wanted to buy the same one here it would cost about HKD40000 which is a little ridiculous.
Yeah that’s the hard part. Maybe though your local cigar lounges, people you know there, on consignment. If you want to try some of the auctions in the UK I know they have them on quarterly basis but I can’t provide details on how to get involved as never done it myself.
Great collection! Make sure to take the selections out of their cedar boxes or they will end up tasting of nothing but cedar. I made that mistake unfortunately.
That’s an interesting feedback! I think people have opinions on polar opposites for this one. Personally, I have not had that experience so am happy to leave them where they are.
The 50th Maduro 5 box is a regional edition made for Spain. Please take the plastic of. It will ruin your humidor smell and give the cigars a plastic smell. The talisman you should wait a minimum of three to five year's further to smoke. They really do not taste very much right know. I've smoked a box of them with one month a part. Still not impressed. Save the 1966. They are sky rocketing in price. Price today is around 200 Euro a stick. And they are going way up the next couple of years
I'm so ignorant in cigar brand's that I heard the 5' shelf as for your partyguests . I better go visit a real shop instead of the local smokestick salesman
I question most that enjoy non-Cubans. I have tried most and hands down Cubans 99.5 times of 100. To each his own though. I love when many don't like Cubans or prefer non as it leaves more for the rest of us. Can't imagine the price of Cubans if all smokers decided to only smoke them.
@@asiancigaraficionados7203 Ghurkas are an abomination to cigars. I don't mind the odd Fuente. The Opus is a very good cigar overall. Olvia V (not the Melanio) is very good. The 2010 Maduro was a star. Padron is way to harsh for me. I have about 20 of the 26 and 64 and would trade them in a heartbeat for some Cubans.
