man, not an NC state fan but you cant not like a story like this, hitting the buzzer beater to make it to the finals in the first place and then beating your 1 seed rivals as the 10 seed to win it, movie worthy run

I never went to school there, but I've been a faithful fan of NC State basketball and football ever since I was old enough to watch sports. I've often wondered why us State fans are so passionate even when we don't win anything, and get met with disappointment year after year, and it's because of stuff like this. We don't ever put the most talented teams out there, but often they've got the most heart. They're often the forgotten team but they have a chip on their shoulder and bring a toughness that's inspiring. They have a legacy of being the David that can take down Goliaths. And when we finally win, man is it sweet!

I’m 38 years old and I’ve been a diehard State fan since the day I was born. Also a State grad. I was in tears last night like many others here. What our boys did is truly special….we defied all odds to win that title. That takes something that can’t be taught. You have to believe. Jimmy V would be running around looking for someone to hug…. Enjoy it Wolfpack nation, enjoy it. Whatever happens next is pure gravy.

This is what is so good about college play. Any team can win on any given night. Momentum is huge, good record or bad. Hopefully it stays that way but with sports betting I’m wondering for how long 🤔

I was privileged enough to be raised in a house full of Wolfpack fans and saw them win in 1987 with Jim Valvano. That was a special win. This last week has worn me out. My emotions were all over the place afraid something was going to happen to take them out of the tourney. Tonight was beautiful! So happy to see the boys in red taking this trophy home! I’m happy for Coach Keats as well. Much deserved, guys! I’m most happy that you beat those Tarheels. Those are my favorite victories. Go Pack 🎉🏀🏆🐺

My son attends NC State now....they went nuts on campus! It would've been even crazier on Hillsborough St had this week not been their Spring Break. A lot of kids were not even back on campus yet. The thing that really hurts is that the NC State women could've easily brought an ACC Title back home as well, but they came up just short to Notre Dame in the Championship game. That would have been a great story had both the men and women won the title in the same year! Great job by both programs and big congrats to the NC State men! Job well done. Hopefully, both teams can make some serious noise in the NCAA Tournament. Hey, why not us??

Lived in Raleigh for a lot of my life, I remember what it was like in Raleigh as a kid during their unlikely 07 run before losing to UNC in the finals, never thought they would ever win an acc title, especially this team, but I’m so happy they did! Now I want to see them win it all so we can get a dorktown episode 10 years from now about the 23-24 nc state Wolfpack men’s basketball team. The most improbable story in the history of organized sports!!!

State Grad 2013. It will probably take a couple of days to set in. My heart was battered from the days of the Cardiac Pack but it has now been renewed. I haven't been this happy about any sport Championship as I have this one. GO PACK!

My daughter came home for Spring Break. We watched, we yelled, we celebrated. The comparison to the 1983 run is uncanny. Needless to say, while I miss her already, I am beyond thrilled that she is back on the NC State campus today. Enjoy the ride, I think there is more fun to come.
