Moral Victory goes to the E46, it’s nearly as fast as the other two. Better built, Much better looking, sounds the best, handles better, and has the real Old School BMW feel.
@@zdendas13v2 The E90 sounds similar, but not equal. It has a slightly more metallic background noise, more in the line of an e46 M3, which is good, actually. It is quite likely that it handles better, too, but it is one of Bangle's creations and most of the BMW fan community has not forgiven Bangle for his heresies. Long live e46. The last proper 3 series.
@@RompehuevosCompulsivo I own a e90 328i 6mt, it feels very well built and looks good in my opinion. It looks miles better in real life than in pictures.
As per my memory from tests done om other sites and magazines the F30 330i does 0-100 in 5.8sec and 0-160kmh in 13.3sec. The E90 330i (190kw) does 0-100 in 6.1sec and 0-160kmh in 15sec. The E46 330i does 0-100 in 6.5sec and 0-160 in 16.5sec. The E46 328i was noticeably slower it did 0-100 in 7.5sec and 0-160kmh in 18sec.
Sounds legit and in line with figures. F30 has more torque on large rpm range and is as powerful as the non LCI E90. E46 is the less powerful and tend to be at least as heavy. I own a 330 xi wagon so it is even slower than this E46 but I would not change anytime for the F30. Either the 335i or a 320d, power and IL6 or economy but not in between. And who cares being 2s faster when you have such power to drive on roads with much traffic and speed radars. Even with the E46, even with AWD and wagon body and a massive wieght of 1700 kg+, you end overtaking around 130-150 using third gear from 80. More than enough to make the headlines and be in trouble. Actually, I drove a 258 hp 330i for roughly 400 km and if I had to make a choice, I would go with the E90...engine with the E46 atmosphere. It's much more BMW and well built than E90 (but way far to be more reliable) but the E90 IL6 is definitely better than E46 one. Better noise, more responsive, higher rev limiter, better fuel economy
1:15 thats an easy diagnosis. When you see your speed surge like that and then you’re ABS light, brake warning light and traction light turns on at the same time. Its a 90% chance its a faulty wheel speed sensor.
Most probably the rear wheel speed sensor is faulty. It will trigger abs fault while driving. Doesnt affect engine performance but it does deactive abs. Its either faulty or dirty which can be cleaned. But I would just replace it, its not expensive about €20, And do diy.
I believe cars should not be too electronic. They should be mechanical, and easily fixed. Because their main purpose is transportation. You can have your electronics needs met with a laptop or phone, but not with a car. Because a car with as much electronics as a modern laptop is just trouble waiting to happen and an endless money pit
i know alot prefer the e46 but if we are just talking about the gen i think the e9x is a bit better its faster has atleast a couple new bels and wistle's and if we are talking m3 god i love that v8. personal prefrence
E9x V8 is a masterpiece, really, smooth in low revs with a nice, gentle, refined noise and wild at the upper end of the revs range with a screaming sound and an increasing and massive power. I could only seat on the right seat of a coupe and it took me 200m and a 50 km/h to be amazed and then after... the next 800 km were a delight. This V8 is fantastic....but so is the inline 6 of E36 and E46. My favourite is the E36 for being the first Dr jekkil and Mr hide M3 chasing Porsche with 4 persons confortably fitted in seats but choose one the 3 would be a bit like choosing one of your 3 kids. Though it's part of history, I'm far to be as enthusiastic for the E30 whose nowadays price is just a joke.
@infineon1985 but back then a 330i was known for being one of the strongest engines in smaller BMWs, a 3.0l straight six. The 330i badge actually had a meaning, now its just a downsized 4 zyl turbo which is very sad :(
@@felixklassen9187 Best in exactly what?! Shit front and rear end. Shit and cheap dashboard and interior,crap build quality,crappy stance. Tell me one thing,that is good on E90 series! Dashboard used to be curved around the driver. It isn't on E90. You have to spend fortune to make it look a bit more acceptable. Up to date 8 haven't seen good looking E90.
Eleonik 76 It’s only in your eyes so it means nothing. You have a very superficial point of view. It’s better built quality than e46, safer car, stronger, more powerful, more spacious, design is more complex because it represents mix of classic, elegant and sporty look, design lines are just awesome, rear is really beautiful somehow beautifuly wide, hips have nice lines(looks like strong shoulders with muscles nicely shaped) Front is splendently made if you look at it from any angle, so nice and somehow low and long hood, just beautifully flat above the tyres, brilliant look! Materails inside are pretty solid, quality plastics on dashboard are soft and well made, doors are heavy with good materials as well. The ride is just magnificent with amazingly accurate steering, you can feel the road so good, heavy feeling of steering, definitly one of the best steerings ever, like in some sport car maybe, terrific feeling on highway, terrific in curves, you know where your tyres are at any time. I adore driving it on mountain roads. You simply can’t get bored of driving E90 , the car was so ahead of it’s time.
E46 has the better, more robust engine despite being down on power. No BMW non M engine since has the same response and lack of drive train power loss. Thats why you see ZHP 330s with 235hp outperform any NA engine fitted to the E9x series. It is BMW's best ever engine outside of the motorsport division and they stopped making it because it cost so much to produce!
My friend had e46 330Ci manual i had e39 530AT in mtech and other buddy e90 convertible 328/330 N/A 6cyl manual and e46 was faster both of us and my e39 was faster 328 so how come here it was different ?
hodně záleží na konkrétní výbavě auta - el.sedačky,šíbr a pod,která váhu auta může o dost navýšit a tudíš zhoršit dynamiku,navíc 46ka má takřka prázdnou nádrž a oproti tomu E90 má plnou a F30 půlku nádrže
E46 330i is much faster than E46 328i. First i had 328i coupe and now i own a 330i convertible!. Due the fact the E46 330i convertible is even heavier then the coupe 328i, the 330i is much faster. He destroys his little brother. Imagine coupe against coupe. Then it would be 3rd degree rape! But 325i and 328i are much the same!
It’s partially down to Advances in Auto Gear shifting , the speed of the F30 changes are a lot quicker also it puts the Rpm back to around 5000 Rpm , also that E46 seems Lazy to rev out Id almost say it’s a 325i but 325i won’t hit 100kph in 2nd so I know it’s a 330. I have seen some that are quite happy to rev out . Your E46 might need a Service I have seen better .
2:22 that is cheating. The Cars are nearly the same fast. But on the right side the Video cut away when the Car only have 190Kmh. And the left one drive to 200Kmh.
I own a 330i F30 LCI manual and it sounds better than most think. One point of bashing is true, the steering is not as good as in the E90 and E81 i owned before. Everything else is better. Fuelconsumption is 27-29 mpg on my driving profile now in winter city-motorway ~ 50:50. Biuld quality after facelift is nice and feels solid. Quality of the E46 was a lot worse, especially chassis and damper. E90 was great, E81 to short wheelbase and the frameless doors in winter are bad. The video is bad for comparison. Please compare again under same conditions.
@@muldix so dtc has to be on then put it in first then clutch in and give gas till you feel the bump at the end and it wil automaticly keep the revs around 3,000 rpm
The cars with straight six engines are 15-20 years old. They wouldn't just fuck an Audi of similar age in a straight line or round any bend, they'd murder them and dissolve the bodies.
turbo L4 330i, what a shitbox... It says all about new car customers, all screens and giggles and couldn't care less about the most "useless" things (sarcasm), like the drivetrain, chassis, suspension scheme and so on... Long live BMW's NA straight 6, love my E90
