Warbands are a massive new feature coming in The War Within expansion that emphasize account wide progress over character specific progress, and they allow you to share currency, renown, reputation and system progression, and even gear! Let's go through everything we know about Warbands so far.

One misconception that I’ve seen a lot on alpha videos is about your Warband. The 4 characters on the login screen are just your favourite ones, the only difference is they appear on that new screen. Your WARBAND is actually just every character on your account, in your current region. Every single character, even cross realm or cross faction, is a part of your warband. You dont have to do anything to ‘pick’ who is in your warband. So every new alt is just automatically added in. EVERY character shares progression, not just the 4 on the login screen. Have they released any information about cross realm guilding yet? I got really excited because I have a few alts 'hanging out' on realms that I would love to bring into my main alt guild.

well not EVERYTHING will be BoA, but most will be, do keep in mind that this will be a process as not all Reps will be account wide, especially not at first, they got TWW and DF started, but they have to start working back each expac with every patch, so i'd say that they'll be done by the time The Worldsoul Saga is completed and they start work on the next saga.

As cool as this is, what I REALLY would like to see is the ability to take your alts with you during your Follower dungeon runs instead of generic characters. Have your own tanks and healer and Dps alts run with your current character.

Yea, i been thinkin the same thing. This is goin towards solo player experience. Kinda like multiboxin, and maybe you could hot swap for specific bosses, some need special tactics, some need big dps.

i disagree, you technically dont NEED all 5 tabs, this is a gold sink to attempt to drain some gold from the economy, just buy the first 3.

@UltimateGamerCC I just can't see why they would add a gold sink on a major 'NEW FEATURE' when they could add a gold sink to many other obvious features such as the bmah, at this point I just hope it becomes a more achievable number, I kind of don't see this being an effective gold sink that will effect anyone other than the avrage player that will naturally want all the tabs unlocked and will than pay for it with tokens, this could net blizz 100s of Millions+ in token sales. It's the kind of predatory behaviour you would have expected to be blamed on bobby previously.

@@jayjays_shed2158 If those were sufficient, we wouldn't be in this situation. This is all ADDITIONAL space. So basically for a very small fee you're getting a ton of space you didn't have before that's shared between all your characters. You still have your individual banks on your characters for storage too - its not like you lose anything with this. Its purely extra.

Not even on topic, but can I just say, as a healer, Thank You for noticing the ranged mob hitting the healer and grabbing it's agro. I can not count the number of times bad tanks just ignore ranged mobs killing me, so I have to heal, dps, and tank. You're my hero.

There has been a change of late to tanks trying to go as fast as possible. Healers and DPS are almost ignored.

@@BlindingSun_ It's not really a flex to be unsure if you have aggro on all mobs or not, which you should have within the first 2-3 seconds of a pull anyway, and then you'll be able to run off to chain pull without even having to look.

The Warband thing is just crazy good - I'm very excited for this expansion. And there's so much scope for customisation and expansion with the Warband - follower dungeons populated by your alts, for one.

Honestly, this is the best feature in the game since... ever. My main fun in the game is playing all the different classes and specs and learning their play style... and this makes it so comfortable. Cool raids and dungeons are very important but when I can't play them with all the different classes, they have way less appeal. This feature will increase the appeal of every group conten for me.

8:40 The prices for the Warband bank are perfectly fine. You get 4 of the 5 for a bit more than 600 k, it's only the last one that's so expensive. That's still a lot of space if you can't afford the last storage. As for the login screen pictures - I'd like to see every zone in the game added over time as well as all the cities, dungeons and raids. And the appropriate music playing in the background depending on the picture you choose. Could also be a really nice touch for people who like to collect stuff to tie the screens to some form of achievement or another, like having to complete the dungeon/raid, exploring the zone or whatever else.

I think that the warband bank gold sync is just like the reason so many BFA mounts were so expensive, so we spend a bunch of gold so we go buy the wow token to get more gold

Not really. A lot of people have that amount of gold anyway. Just on my main I made about 800k in Dragonflight, and I haven't even done anything crazy, just a bunch of world quests per week.

The sharing currency is something Guild Wars 2 already had. I recall the first Guild Wars also had this things here you'd take some of your alts and have them assigned as allies that could go with you on missions, up to 3 of your alts would go with you questing and on missions..

They should add something similar to the champion point system of ESO to allow you to only have to *level up* on one character as the progression is account wide, of course you would still be able to play through the story if desired but this would make all of you character that are a certain designated max level (60 or whatever) will be endgame ready at the same time as your main. This would also solve the level bloat and long term health of the game not requiring level squishes every x amount of expansions.

Happy to see the mythic/gold etc info on the home page also, save me a few add-ons. The renown warband progression is the most happy news since I've been frustrated with the profession recipes locked behind renown and BOP so for the first time in a few expac I don't have any max professions in DF. 😢 Background scenes are a Lost Ark feature, nice to see it coming here.

The size of the warband bank for the reasonably priced portions is sufficient for most normal users. Using extreme storage as a gold sink is perfectly reasonable. If the baseline size + cheap tabs were smaller, I might have an issue with it... but since they're giving is a SIGNIFICANT amount of shared space on top of the individual space on each character... I'm fine with it.

lol @ Algarian Dungeoneer, there are those of us who suck at tanking and healing, but most of the changes look good, I currently have about a dozen alts at max level, so the bonus for alts at max level is of interest

Yeah, getting to the max level, then complete every dungeon on mythic difficulty in three different roles is hardly playing around! Lots of players just like playing one role. This hypes me so much.. SO MUCH.. My biggest gripe with WoW for the past 5 years or so is how fractured everything feels between characters. Playing 1 toon faithfully to get rep grinds & formulas for professions, etc - just to decide that 3/4ths the way through the season that I'm bored of that character, but being somewhat locked to it because I don't wanna redo all the stuff I've done is the biggest step forward imo..

Maybe different idea about warband bank - why to force it to be like guild bank with tabs (and buying them for outrages prices :D) instead of having same format as your personal bank - buy 5/6/7 (what ever they decide) slots, buy bags you feel like need or can afford + reagent space (or 1/2 slots for reagent bags). I would say, this is easier and so much better option.

I've had a personal alt guild ever since Cata that i've used the same way as the warband bank works, so I don't think i'll be buying all those tabs lol. I hope we're able to send currencies like timewalking badges too. I have around thirty thousands badges, but spread across like 14 characters. I only have enough to buy a mount on one character, and the rest don't have enough to buy some of the other stuff i want

I love a lot of the features announced so far. That being said, those prices for bank tabs are absolutely stupid. Not everyone has time to farm like crazy or the good fortune that some others seem to have on the AH. Even guild bank tabs are not that expensive.

They might make Human's Diplomacy like Goblin's Best Deals Anywhere in which you get the best possible discount regardless of faction standing. Makes sense that they would negotiate a deal rather than straight haggling like a Goblin.

My biggest wish as someone freshly getting interested by transmogs is that warbands would, in some way, facilitate mogs transmission between characters so you don't have to rush again and again old raids and dungeons to obtain a perticular piece of gear that you are missing (i.e : send all the mail pieces you just got to your war-bank and obtain it on your shaman). Since they are still soulbound, I don't think Blizzard has any plan regarding this time investment that they seem to fight for more and more nowadays. Hope they'll think about it someday, would be crazy cool !

Its about time one of the feature i love about guild wars. Glad they brought it to wow. Now bring the deposit item in your bag that sends everything to your city bank like guild wars. So the bags never fill when starting out.

do you think the transmog collection also works for like pandaria challenge modes in the day? i got the hunter one but that's it. I wonder if you now get all classes? Wish I did more classes.

13:40 While I understand why this is great for a lot of people, I'd like the option to turn OFF the 25% leveling XP from the achievements. I prefer leveling more slowly! (Yes, I've ditched BoA gear entirely.) As an altoholic who largely ignores endgame, the Warbands features look fantastic. I'm excited for Delves as well, maybe those will finally encourage me to push one character to see how far I can solo something.

I hope they reconsider flightstones and crests. Maybe tying it to the dreaming of achievement. It just feels pointless to play my main when I get fully decked out in gear and a slog to get an alt to that same level. Would be nice to be able to jumpstart them.

i doubt that they will, as that would only take effort from character progression and Blizzard have always been adamant against that, they are flexible these days, but that is where they will never budge.

I'm mainly interested in getting 3 Warband Bank tabs, for my Leather, Ore & Cloths. More than that would be a bonus, but I'd be ok with me unlocking 3.
