That sounds awfully familiar… didn’t Olga Orly and Tia Alita (might have forgotten the proper names) in Apollo Justice also touched their injuries when they got nervous too? Looks like when people panic, wounds start throbbing. Now that I think about it, Ashton Graydon was either reaching or holding his shoulder when he was panicking, and whenever he recoils, he lifts his hand, probably the one which had he scratched his thumb on with the music disc.
I will never get over how happy the Piece of Cake- ahem, Bake n' Bop opening makes me, because of the small addition of voice acting (even though It'd be even better to hear the whole song) that's not just objection lines
Lyrics: "What shall we make today kids?" "Samson & Judy's: Bake'n'Bop!" Macarons, waffles with cream, Chiffon cakes that are as light as a dream! Laugh and sing, smile, it's true, All that sweetness waiting for you! Look there! What? where? Over there! The oven's got something special to share! ...Ping!... Nooow let's see what we've got for yooou! "Iiit's cooking time! Are you ready to make something special together?"
42:12 It’s funny how just like the Delicia’s appearance in the game, her name has not changed between the fan and official localizations at all after over a decade.
This is a better name than “the inherited Turnabout”. This is Edgeworth continuing his father's legacy in finding the truth! He doesn’t care if he's on the opposite side. He only wants to do his cases without foul play.
So, the franchise really DID retcon von Karma's penalty... Remember back in Turnabout Goodbyes, Grossberg explained that von Karma got his penalty because Gregory proved the prosecutor used forged evidence? Well, now this case is saying that Gregory *knew* that von Karma forged evidence, but couldn't prove it. Instead, he proved that von Karma bullied the defendant into "admitting" his guilt.
...a coerced confession is still forged evidence. His confession was used in a court of law to get him convicted, but because it was proven to be a false confession forced out of him thanks to the interrogation recording, the evidence was null, Samson could only be found guilty of being an accomplice, and von Karma was justly penalized.
Yeah, I'm kinda mixed as of if it's a retcon or not. As the other comment says, it *could* (this is going into headcanon territory to explain something ambiguous) be explained by Grossberg making an assumption. I imagine Grossberg didn't buy into von Karma's lies and thought the penalty was because of the forged evidence, rather than the forced confession.
SPOILERS FOR THE CASE AFTER THIS I thought he did prove it. The autopsy report was fabricated because the victim’s body went missing, so Gregory was able to prove that the autopsy report was forged. I think it’s explained in the next case. The original detective on the case, Ian Sideman, did report that the victim’s corpse went missing, however this information was not relayed to Manfred von Karma, leading to the forged autopsy report being used, and the Chief Prosecutor at the time blackmailed the coroner to forge it and give it to von Karma. Once Gregory exposed the autopsy report as fake, along with the confessions being forced, the Chief Prosecutor at the time gave von Karma a penalty. Most likely to prevent a full inquiry from taking place, which would have led to the discovery of Chief Prosecutor’s involvement in the forged autopsy report. And let’s just say the former Chief Prosecutor is a REAL jerk with all 4 letters in caps.
mate came back to play Prosecutor's [strike]Path[/strike] Gambit again for the official English loc. At least both fan and capcom localizers got Delicia's name right.
