I know you’re supposed to hate Sebastian, but I just feel bad. He’s obviously being manipulated. The kid has a brain, he’s just a bit slow on the uptake, which makes it easier to steer him around. Hating him feels like kicking a puppy that’s been conditioned to be aggressive. Also I immediately love him for the puns.

Thanks for saying that, I feel the same way. In fact, Sebastian is quite smart. He's a conductor, which takes immense attention to detail and is an incredibly difficult skill to learn. Under the right tutelage, he could become an exceptional prosecuter.

@@tsumugishirogane3925 It's never explicitly stated, however Sebastian is shown to carry a conductor's baton, and often mimics the motions of a conductor. It's easy to read this as Sebastian actually having musical experience, although not necessarily with an instrument. Klavier Gavin also mimics using his preferred instrument (a guitar), so I'd say it's fair to assume that Sebastian is in fact a conductor, or at least has experience as one.

Considering the pun Kay made on her surname, does this mean her name is pronounced Kay FAR-a-day and not Kay FAIR-a-day? Also, there's no way the prisoner could be von Karma. At this point, von Karma is dead. This game takes place after "Trials and Tribulations", as does the first Investigations game. In that game, Phoenix notes that von Karma "had a perfect win record for 40 long years... But now, he is gone from this world..." I believe it was implied, too, in "Reunion, and Turnabout" from Justice for All with similar wording from Phoenix to Franziska.

I have noticed over the years that Capcom is very critical of Japanese society, even the case where Phoenix is accused of stealing money was something the creator went through in school. They point out various flaws in Japanese law, especially it’s high conviction rates (99% as of 2021), assumption of guilt, defense attorneys being more of a formality than a needed part of law, corruption in the courts, the old ruling over the young with an iron fist. In the Megaman Starforce series, they are critical of Japanese society refusing to acknowledge mental health concerns and general disdain of anyone who doesn’t fit in.

I get the impression the Judge Courtney, and Prosecutor Sebastian are related somehow...Like they are family in some way. They share a fondness for extending tools, and there are similarities in how they dress. And then there's the way they address each other. It's...odd.

I want to see a flashback case where Edgeworth convicts Dogen in AAI3. In my headcanon, that incident was the AI-16 Incident (this case was briefly mentioned in Rise from the Ashes, when Edgeworth brought up the screwdriver Damon Gant told him to transport by car which allowed him to hide Detective Goodman's body in it. The police tag read "AI-16 Incident").

Two things First, Sebastian, in my opinion, is child's play in Edgeworth's eyes. Second, Judge Courteney is SMARTER THAN THE AVERAGE JUDGE! (Yogi-Bear Ref.) She calls more shots than courtroom judges.

this is straight up its like watching a goose nip the heels of a horse... odd comparison ik, but seriously they couldnt care less about the goose's "threating bites"... tip for when dealing with geese, their "bite" is more of a pinch, so if you give them an area with not alot of flesh on it to bite... it turns into a tickle fest with frustrated goose confused why you are laughing so fucking hard... horses' legs dont have alot of fleshy below the knee im sorry im really weird... i shouldnt have used the saying in the first place since most people wouldnt get it but... it just fits so well here, an angry and confused 20lbs goose trying intimate a 1,000lbs horse who literally doesnt care because they could just squash them lmao
