ace characters | Asexual Awareness Week 2017 

The fact that Jughead in Riverdale is not asexual is literally the entire reason I haven't watched it. It's pretty clear from reading the comics that he is disinterested in sex and romance. Even in the periods where he dates girls these moments are comparatively fewer which could still easily place him on the asexual and a romantic spectrums. Perhaps as a grey asexual, a demisexual or a grey romantic asexual. Whichever way you look at it the boy is ace

Sherlock Holmes, especially the classic one, is definitely ace and I'm pretty sure even aro. Like as an example: he isn't in love with Adler, he admires her intelligence.

As far as canon characters, I know there was a show a few years ago called Sirens that had a female asexual character (like, she actually used the word), though I've heard it was handled pretty terribly. As a better example, the book Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire has an ace protagonist (and a trans character, and some other great representation!). I haven't read it yet, but there's another book called Quicksilver that has an ace main character. As far as headcanons go, I absolutely read Katniss as ace and aro. That's why I hated the end of the books so much. I'm sure the future Star Wars movies are going to ruin this but I'm really pulling for an aromantic Rey. Also Frodo and Bilbo Baggins, Enjolras, Dexter, Sherlock, The Doctor, Lara Croft, Agent 47... there are probably others I'm forgetting but those are the ones that come to mind 😊

I was searching a video about canon ace characters in media on RU-vid and found yours ! And I'm glad you made it. There's very little canon ace characters especially female ones which are underrepresented in media. I don't know if you count my other example of ace character which is an anime. Saiki Kusuo from The Disastrous Life of Saiki Kusuo/Saiki Kusuo No Psi Nan is a great example being ace/aro character. There are many scenes/instances that he has no desire in romance and most notably in sexual things (such as porn magazine) especially girls trying to make him fall in love by trying to be cute or sexy or etc but he doesn't see them that way. He does care for them as friends and their well being when they get in trouble but doesn't see them sexually.

Katniss is definitely not allosexual but the movies discount so many things! Also don't forget elsa, spongebob, florence, jay and newt! Edit: oh and merida! Luna luna luna luna!

There's an anime called Death Note, and the two main characters are almost certainly aces.

I'm sure Saiki K . (the disastrous life of Saiki K) is Asexual and aromantic too.

I heard that the Professor from Gilligans Island is considered asexual, and the creator of AHS said Misty Day was asexual. Also, although it's not explicit, many people consider both Elsa and Merida asexual and aromantic (which I can totally see).

The book Radio Silence by Alice Oseman is good for ace-spectrum representation.

Jonathan Sims is a pretty good ace character, he's also the main character of his story which is pretty cool

I'm late AF but here is 3 aro/ace characters 1. Zim(and the whole irken species) from invader Zim are aroace. They repurpose with clones, they don't have no no parts, and they can't feel any romantic feelings. 2. Sans from Undertale. The creator of undertale have said he is too lazy for s3x and romance. 3. Papyrus from Undertale. He is the brother of sans. The creator of undertale have said he is too innocent for anything more than play dates/fake dates.

My favorite asexual character is Nancy, the main character in the book "Every Heart a Doorway" by Seanan McGuire. Her sexuality isn't a main part of the book, but it's mentioned and affects the character.

I wish we have a main character who asexual or have both the main character or have his/her friends be asexual, you know that way they’re both learning from each other and together about their sexuality

I am years late, but let me add two more to the list: 1) Doctor Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds. He is not canonically ace in the way that it is never adressed in the show, however, a buddy of mine met the actor Matthew Gray Gubler once and asked him about it, and Matthew said he has played Reid as biromatic asexual since the very first season. The main reason it isn't canon is that the Network didn't allow for it; the writers also wanted to make Emily Prentriss a lesbian and Penelope Garcia bi, but again the Network said no. However, the writers and actors created as much coding and subtext around this to make up for it. Especially for Reid, this is done very well in my opinion. I am biromatic ace myself and I really relate to Reid and can definitely see him being ace. Plus, again, he was deliberately written and played as such. 2) Another character that is at least coded as ace by the creator is Caduceus Clay from Critical Role Campaign 2 - the character actor, Taliesin Jaffe, has said a few times that he can see the asexual headcanon for Caduceus becoming canon in the future. Some people also headcanon Fjord Stone from the same series and campaign as ace, however I feel like this isn't as obvious in the story. The actor, Travis Willingham, hasn't said anything about it, but he did say he doesn't like playing relationships and sexual things etc. in DND so maybe Fjord will be canon ace at some point though I think it is more likely for Caduceus that Fjord. I also read that either The Adventure Zone or Magnus Archives (I get those mixed up because I don't listen to either) has ace representation.

I've just realised a character from The Walking Dead who could be on the Asexual Spectrum. Daryl Dixion. He's been a long character from the first season and has never once been interested in any characters, women or men or been in a relationship. He's got close friends, Carol, Rick, Maggie, Michonne and a few others. But he's never had a love interest. His character development is great btw, love him ^-^

Riverdales Jughead does not appear to be Ace/Aro as he is in a relationship that almost got sexual and has said nothing to the contrary.

In my opinion both kaz and inej from six of crows are asexual- not aromantic because they clearly show interest in being in a relationship w/ each other one day, but there’s a lot of canon evidence to suggest that both of them would be disinterested in sex.

Can you do do alester from hazbin hotel and sheldon cooper from big bang theory both are asexual and both shows are extremely popular. Alester is asexual aromantic.

In the show Riverdale Jughead is in a relationship with Betty Cooper (circa end of season 1) so not completely ace, but still could be ace.
