after not seeing no multiplayer missions or having a SteamVr option I just haven't had the motivation to keep playing it after unlocking everything :/

@@gabrielfiol2311 and performing a post stall 180 in the mission 20 tunnel + tower , its fun but theres only so much before you go Im done and Id rather play multiplayer missions back on ACi then a battle royal :/

@@matty4z I agree. The multiplayer is underwhelming. I wish there were co op missions and ground attack modes in multiplayer as well as allow much bigger lobbies. Hopefully within a year they add all of those things. Look at what happened with Battlefront II and No Man's Sky years after their release. Project Aces is a very Passionate group of engineers and I'm sure they want more for their games

I heard a bit of the radio chatter in the video and it seems like those Osean SU-47s are former heroes with a tainted past and possibly forgotten due to killing innocents or something in a mission gone bad. Dang, Matias is basically running his own Militaires Sans Frontières but with Outer Heaven's ship/sub!

For those who are not fully fluent in armaments lingo: APDS = Armour piercing, discarding sabot (pronounced 'sah-bow' the t is silent, and it comes from the abbreviation of a french word, that originally first named the concept) rounds. The FS designation after it, means 'Fin Stabilized' and, as implied, this means that after the primary (sub-caliber) round discards its outer 'sabot' casings after firing, it has internal fins that then deploy to help stabilize it in flight, on its way to its target.. This is to help the very high velocity railgun rounds to remain 'base-stable' and fly straight & true in flight, and not start to tumble violently and break apart, or veer off course. The higher the velocity of any projectile (or aircraft) in flight, the more critical the smoothness & flat trajectory of its flight.. Any bullet or projectile, (or even jet aircraft!) has much more of its weight in its 'base' (its back end) than it does in its much lighter, pointed tip front end.. So, with all its mass in the 'base' rear end..if anything (turbulence, adiabatic air pressure, impacts, departure from controlled flight, etc) creates a reason for its weight to shift..all that mass in the back starts trying to overtake its own center of gravity, causing it to tumble violently..and all the mass to force its way to the 'front' radically altering everything, in a very bad, vehemently violent, way.. To paint a basic mental picture: Imagine an 18 wheeler truck, with a heavy load in the trailer, going fast down a straight highway.. & suddenly braking hard..all that mass in the back-end tries to overtake the prime mover & can easily cause twisting, yawing & rolling forces on the entire rig, that would very easily cause complete wreckage of the entire machine.. Now imagine that, for a railgun projectile in open flight, in 3 dimensions, at near hypersonic velocities.. It would either shatter itself long before it ever reached its target, or at least veer off its trajectory crazily..if not kept very well stabilized. This is why rifling in a firearm barrel, that imparts a controlled rate of spin on a bullet, is key to providing both improved base stabilization of its bullets in flight, and the much improved accuracy on target, that is also imparted & provided to the bullet, as a natural bonus.. But a railgun is very different, it has NO barrel or rifling, just a powered electromagnetic rail(s) and is firing its projectiles at far higher velocities than any conventional bullet.. So, it becomes imperative to create a way to stabilize these round in flight, with small deploying finlets.. Indeed, many armament designs now use winglets, finlets, or strakes, such as those on JDAM or SDB bombs, right up to cruise missiles, to help improve stability, accuracy & glide characteristics.. So they can fly further from their release point. Giving pilots a greater stand-off range from their targets, and staying well outside of their enemy's gun & SAM range when deploying against them.. There, Now you too, know what an APDS-FS round is.. However: The entire 'sub-caliber munitions, with discarding outer sabot' concept is not as common as it once was.. And with APDS, It's highly wasteful and fussy to manufacture, especially to high velocity tolerances..(and with regard to railgun tech, its entirely unnessesary!)..and even for ordinary bullets, is an obsolete design concept. Very few places ever made many in large numbers, IRL..they were almost always experimental research designs.. Some fancy shotgun rounds still use discarding sabot designs, in lieu of wads, but that is about the only real use of them in the conventional firearms industry. Those and caseless ammo were both concepts that sounded great in theory & seemed 'super hi-tech' back in the 80's.. But proved to be twice as expensive, (for no real great improvement at all), over conventional ammo. Now you know. Hope this helps, and a warm G'day from 🇦🇺
