Alaska Airmen Association's 2021 Raffle Cub winner Mike Donahue, of Shelby Montana talks about winning the Acme Cub built PA-18, how it flies, the quality of the rebuild and a little bit about his aviation experience. We caught Mike Donahue and Junghead Counsell at Birchwood Airport, Chugiak, Alaska on Saturday June 19 in the rain before they started for a trek accross Canada, destination Shelby, Montana.
The Alaska Airmen's Raffle Plane a Piper PA-18 with 35 inch Alaskan Bushwheels, Lycoming O-320 160HP engine, Airframes Alaska fuselage, light weight lift struts, P-STOL flaps, Garmin ADS-B package, Oratex covering and a Bad-Ass paint scheme by Plane Schemers. Donahue won this off-airport ready aircraft and 5 Hours of check-out instruction from Acme Cub Training. The drawing for the winner was on May 9, at the Alaska Airmen Aviation Gathering and Tradeshow at the Alaska State Fairgrounds in Palmer, Alaska.
