Jackson (James Spader) figures out the seventh symbol and the Stargate is activated, opening a wormhole.
Military man Colonel Jack O'Neil (Kurt Russell) and brilliant Egyptologist Daniel Jackson (James Spader) lead a reconnaissance team through a StarGate, a portal which transports them millions of light years from Earth and strands them on an alien planet. When the ruler of this extraordinary world, Ra (Jaye Davidson), discovers the power of the StarGate, he devises a deadly plot. Racing against time, O'Neil and Jackson must overcome Ra if they are to save Earth and find a way back home.
