I came to this comment section just to make sure I wasn't alone in how I felt listening to this. Sam, it's called cognitive dissonance, and it made you irrelevant.

Im sick of violence being called a protest. What they have no where to protest so they have to go into lectures and harass people and disrupt.

Having looked up to Sam Harris since 2004/2005 time period...I must say, hearing him today and his complete lack of knowledge and possibly even worse, his lack of care; absolutely broke my heart and really let me down. He opened my eyes to so much during my political formative years in my early 20's. But now he couldn't care less about important information because he doesn't like Trump and it's obviously swayed what he does and doesn't care about. I mean come on, the Sam Harris that I thought I knew, would have dug deep for the truth even if it didn't change his mind. Because the fact that it is the truth and people need to know it, regardless of who it is or what it's about. He honestly didn't know about the Ashley Biden diary? Is he that far gone? I mean, to not even hear a whisper about it to get him interested enough to question it? Wow. Head in the sand much? Great interview as always, Megyn...but yeah this one definitely made me lose faith in people I really used to look up to...

I’m not sure what has happened to Sam Harris’s brain. I was a huge fan, and am surprised he can’t hear what we are hearing come out of his mouth. It sounds bad however he tries to phrase it.

Sam did an amazing job of talking in circles for the entirety of the Trump segment. The fact that he can't concede someone might have totally justifiable reasons for disagreeing with him on the Trump question is proof he can't think clearly on the issue. If he was hoping this interview would be an opportunity for 'redemption' I think he'll be disappointed.

Harris speaks his opinion as facts but then becomes flustered when questioned. Rare you have someone so boring yet full of themselves.

This man's observations about Trump are incredibly shallow and off-kilter! Completely misjudging Trump. I feel like I've wasted precious time listening to his blathering. If he thinks Trump is more dangerous that lying Biden, he's ridiculous!

Sam Harris seems semi intelligent and yet he sides with Bidens Presidency over Trumps. That's enough to tell you how damaged and disturbed this fella is. Get help Sam. All the best.

Love your show Megan! I was turned on to Sam Harris in 2017 maybe by my now 30 year old son. I listened to him debate with Ezra Klein - I’ve listened to almost all of his podcasts because they are so interesting & speak to me on so many levels about a myriad of topics. Especially the one he did about the cops. Something changed with him. He speaks about Trump in a what I would call a deranged way. It’s almost like he has an obsession as do most people who dislike Trump. Trump really took a very deep dive into people’s minds to the point of not being able to see the trees through the forest. It’s weird. Anyway I hope people can let that go because Trump didn’t even do half the things people think he did that was so awful compared to Hillary Clinton - the topper on her for me was the basket of deplorable’s that started the madness along with a few others. Calling more than half of the country started the craziness. IMO

I've been a listener of Sam for years, and I fall more on the right than left. He's the only person on the "left" who doesn't lie about the fact of the current world. He'll speak on the issues with the left and like he mentioned he's been a huge critic of what the left has turned into on his podcast- making sense

I get the feeling Megyn, like some of us listening to him talk, just wanted to scream several times “just cut the crap and be real”.

Ppl just don’t understand those that voted for Trump. They know he’s flawed just as those running the other party are flawed. But it’s the issues that he promised and I think his voters feel that he fulfilled most of those promises. He’s certainly not our spiritual advisor or idol . He just got some positive things done in the midst of a great storm. I vote for the policies not the flawed person that will work them out.

Sam Harris is a real life example to prove that blind hatred can turn an intelligent person to an extreme fool.

I find Sam Harris even worse now ... what has happened to him? He used to be a forthought leader and now he is blinded by something that's in him. This is what happens when you refuse to go deeper or to change your mind on something. Its a shame that his ego is what is ruling him now.

This is a big miss for Megyn: Harris is saying he didn't say what he actually said (vis a vis the laptop). Somebody needs to get him to simply admit that he f-ed up. And Megyn utterly fails at that here. She was far too soft on him. Disappointing.

A perfect example of how to speak out of both sides of your mouth

Well, this really didn't redeem him in my eyes. Weak sauce. So he says he knows enough about Trump and Biden to know that Trump is worse but also admits the media bias. Doesn't he recognize that the media bias is creating his own bias and that by the media not reporting on Biden's malfeasance, that feeds his bias since he only hears one side? And yet he seems perfectly comfortable only hearing one side. Also, he's not very informed if he hasn't heard about Ashley's diary. This is a supposedly great thinker? Is it Covid or Trump that turned a reasonable debater and thinker who was interesting to listen to into a shell of his former self?

I understand that part of being a good interviewer is letting the guest speak and handing them the rope with which to hang themselves but there were several times here when Sam Harris was confessing through projecting and you failed to hold him accountable for his clearly overt BS.

Here is my look. This transgender movement with teens and young children is a fad or a trend because they think it’s cool. Growing up I was always uncomfortable in my skin. Why? Well not because I am a woman but because I never felt tall enough or skinny enough or pretty enough. I grew to be comfortable in my skin after I stopped caring about how tall or skinny enough. I found that in was my character or how I treated people. I learned beauty comes from within and not what clothes or makeup I bought or wore. This is what we need to teach our children. Not let them mutilate their bodies because they may feel uncomfortable in the bodies they were born in. We need to stop this madness. Believe it or not this trend will become uncool soon enough and then children are gonna blame parents for allowing them to scar their bodies that is not repairable.

Did Sam just say that he doesn't hate Trump as a person? Anybody who has listened to Sam's podcast over the past several years must know this statement to be disingenuous if not just an outright self-deceptive lie. He railed on about Trump well before there was any indication that Trump might not agree to a peaceful transfer of power.

There is nothing Sam Harris could ever say worth listening

Sam did a good job circling around every question. Just trying to come back in the lime life.

I listen to Megyn everyday for the last 2 years. This interview made my head hurt. Harris speaks well with proper grammar and a decent vocabulary ... but he did not say anything that could track on a high school debate team Flow Chart. Thus my headache.

In saying what he actually said about Trump was not really what he was saying shows Sam Harris as a fraud an a liar. He absolutely said the lies about Trump were worth it, that the ends justified the means. Harris tried to weasel out of it and then we see a clip where he clearly makes that comment .

There are plenty of public figures and intellectuals who handle their social media well. Sam's citing the toxicity of Twitter is another instance of his pointing the blame and consequences of his opinions and his inability or unwillingness to justify them on somebody or something else.

The mental gymnastics he performs must be exhausting. Poor Sam. This breaks my heart.

How can you hate another person that deeply? You can't hate a person so much yet consider yourself the good guy. Hatred and goodness are opposite. Such deep hatred of Trump is scary behavior.

Oh for christ sake, he said Biden could have a cellar full of bodies and he still would support him over Trump. So on that basis, how "interested in the information" would he have been, or, as it happens, was he. Answer: not at all. He didn't want to know. All he wanted was "trump out." I have been an admirer of Harris, but he has joined company with the category of people that he often times clearly shows that they are wrong, and those people will never just admit they are wrong. He just won't admit he was wrong. Instead he does the context dance, trying to explain himself. Gad Saad did an excellent critique of Sam's song and dance that is worth watching.

I'm honestly tired of people talking about the sides when the truth is you catch hate from hateful people. The "side" is irrelevant.

"I'm not actually saying what I seem to be saying.." Classic self-delusory Harris gaslighting! And then he goes on to blame the person who posted the clip as the same one who posted a subsequent clip of him saying something almost as preposterous. Well, we've seen both clips in their entirety and some of us watched the entire podcasts, and the essence and substance of what Sam said in those podcasts has nothing to do with how the clips were selected or presented.

Megan could you do a show on the history of Weimar Germany and what led to the collapse. Not just the inflation but the cultural perversion that was so prevalent in the early 1920’s

Megan, the reason why new people reject Sam is that he imagines international influence peddling is somehow worse than running an unaccredited college that wasn't top flight. I want to preface my commentary by saying - I like Sam Harris. I disagree with 99% of his views (though he is an interesting commentator) and I liked this interview, in spite of the fact that I think Sam successfully dodged some hard questions by Megyn. I think Sam is being intellectually dishonest in this interview. He says, and I’m paraphrasing, that we know a lot about Trump and Biden and Trump University is worse than anything Biden ever did. That’s objectively false. Trump U was sued and lost in court and was ordered to pay a bunch of money to people who were harmed if I’m remembering correctly. Joe Biden sold out the U.S. to a degree that NO ONE, including Sam Harris seem interested in probing. Under Trump’s presidency, radicals may have become more radical, but, the U.S. economy was booming, the border was secure, Afghanistan was stable, no new wars were started, Russia hadn’t invaded Ukraine, China wasn’t ready to invade Taiwan and WW3 was generally thought to be incredible. Then he says he doesn’t like what Trump did to American politics. That he did not peacefully transfer power to Biden, while neglecting to mention that Clinton, in cooperation with Obama and Biden, and their FBI and intelligence agencies, schemed to knee cap Trump’s presidency before it even started and launched years of bogus investigations into him. But, according to Sam that was a peaceful transfer of power. And Sam “hated” Trump prior to Biden’s “win,” so hearing him say he hates what Trump did to politics and citing the transfer of power as the reason, is misleading at best and outright lying at worse. To sum up, I could write full essays about Sam’s absolute dishonesty and inconsistencies in this interview, I won’t do that here, but, Sam Harris is a partisan who hates Donald Trump and that’s okay. Just say so.

Harris feels extremely certain he knows all he needs to know about Biden's character, yet somehow didn't happen to hear about Ashley Biden's diary. He also expressed several times in this interview that he didn't know about stories that were pretty easy to hear about that Megan discussed. He showed very plainly that he limits his information sources to those that supports his desires, and cultivates his certainly on that information. I also noted that he made proclamations in very general terms, with no support; and it can't be attributed to not being allowed to finish his statements, because Megan gave him free reign to speak unimpeded.

WOW Sam comes across as highly brainwashed. no matter what he sees, he can't look at it in a non-biased way; yet he says he is not biased.

I listen pretty much to every episode. I knew I would have a repulsion to Sam Harris, but I began to listen away. I think Megyn has a soft spot for this guy. What I appreciate about Megyn is she is a bit of bull dog when it comes to issues and she rarely makes it personal. Sam is a mess right now and he can't seem to figure out what is up from down. His take on Biden laptop, Covid, to Trump is isn't grounded or reasoned. It's odd and unhinged. His response to the video of Mr. Llama says it all. It doesn't matter if he is secretly a pedophile. He was absolutely inappropriate with a child and that's end of the story. I was thankful that Megyn stood by her opinion, but I would like to have heard her say, "Sam, it sounds a little like you are making excuses for Mr. Llama. Is that what you are doing?" One of his last line says the last thing I ever need to hear from Sam when he said that this one moment shouldn't discount his entire legacy. He just abused a kid in broad daylight. F the Llama's legacy.
