You pick that up from your parents just hearing then speak and you copy it without knowing it. He also looks like like him when the camera is further away. It's in his genes
Bonfire of the Vanities was good though. Lesser known movies: Ladykillers. The Terminal. Road to Perdition. All cool in their own way. Tom Hanks is the best actor in Hollywood.
+Adam -- but doesn't he look more like his mom, Rita? Lisa Hendy just informed me that Rita is his stepmother. Yes, she is correct. Colin's mother was actress Susan Dillingham (known professionally as Samantha Lewes), who died of bone cancer on March 12, 2002. But I still think he doesn't look all that much like papa Tom.
Had no idea this man was Tom hanks son, I wondered where I recognized him from.. and I realized he was an antagonist in the original Dexter series in one of the later seasons. He did a great job in that
Your fucking brain will explode when I tell you Tom Hanks has an even younger son who tried to start a rap career . Look up "the bonfire seriusxm Chet Hanks" . You're welcome
Lo On OMG! That younger son was having a big time mid life crisis 🤣🤣😭 I heard about it on the Wendy William’s Show! Dude was living the true story of the movie “Malibu Most Wanted” 💀☠️☠️☠️
When I was starting out in my career my dad was pretty well known locally in the same industry so I totally understand walking that fine line between making a name for yourself while also being proud of your father.
I know everybody is obsessed with how much he sounds and looks like Tom, but he’s his OWN talent. I feel sorry for him that he will forever be known for “Tom hanks son” instead of being known for himself.
Bosom Buddies was a great comedy. Tom Hanks had some wonderful dramatic moments on that show. He had star qualities even back then. And then came "Splash" (imo, his breakout role) directed by Ron Howard.
Since I've seen him in Dexter and then in Fargo he's one of my favourite actors. And I like it how he's not making a big deal out of the fact that Tom Hanks is his father.
I would have to say amongst all his other great accomplishments, Tom Hanks must be a great father because Colin seems very humble and down to earth. Many would let their dad's superstardom go to their head, but he seems like just a normal guy.
timg2727 every time I see Colin the first thing I think is The ‘burbs 2. With Colin as Dave Peterson, Ray Peterson’s kid and he lives with Corey Feldman and they have weird neighbours who are serial killers. And Colin is “no, it can’t be happening...again” and Corey’s the enthusiastic friend who drags him into finding out the truth
I feel like being Tom Hank's son has given Colin both the obvious advantage of name recognition in Hollywood and also freed him up to do a wider range of roles. Tom is very broadly typecast as a 'Nice guy hero'. That still means he can do many different roles, but not darker roles, even if he isn't the villain. I can't imagine Tom Hanks in Fargo, for instance, especially in the final confrontation with Billy Bob Thornton's character. If it was Tom I wouldn't be able to take that scene seriously.
C's a class-act. Known him for a long time, not friends but frieldlyish. Loved he casually dropped a dear friend of his into the interview...I just know there was money on the line to do so.
I really thought he’d be a bigger actor. Not saying he’s garbage. He’s actually a very underrated actor. Been in a few big movies and has that tv show but I just thought he’d be more successful on the big screen.
I was rewatching family ties and just found out colin is his son 😮 how didn't i know this before ? I see he has a lot of his father's characteristics like the laughter, the way he talks, the pauses . Whoa
I am so very sorry to the fans of Colin I never knew his name but I seen him in house bunny and some other movies I never knew he was the son of the voice of my childhood hero "woody'
Anyone else Remember Collin Hanks from the Peter Jackson King Kong Movie Wich Starred Jack Black as Carl Denem the Director, Adrian Brody as Jack Dryscal the Book Author that the Girl Falls in Love with, and Andy Circus as Lumpy the Chef and King Kong (Via Motion Capture for the CGi King Kong like what they did for Gollum)?
I hate to disagree with Colin, but his father was a national treasure in our house during his Bosom Buddies days too. We enjoyed him and that show very much and we were very sorry when it was canceled.
