I don´t know... I like Andrew Garfield, but I can think of at least 15 different actors who deserve an Oscar way more than he does (the first to come to mind is Willem Dafoe). Andrew still has DECADES ahead of him (and countless roles) to win an Oscar.

@@gabrielp9646 Dafoe, if anything, would be supporting actor this year. Age shouldn’t be a reason to not give someone an Oscar. He has already gotten a nomination for Hacksaw Ridge and gotten critical acclaim for The Social Network. And the fact that he’s already won the Golden Globe this year is a lock for a nomination. And career wise there are actors who are overdue but Oscars are not career awards, they are single movie awards (or single movie awards backed up by a great career, which is usually the case). Garfield carries Tick Tick Boom, he is the movie. There may be 15+ actors who deserve it more, but not 15+ actors who deserve it more AND have a performance to compete with this year. That being said, I don’t think Garfield is winning. Will Smith is one of those actors who has the career and the movie to compete with in King Richard. But Garfield is top 3 this year with Smith and Cumberbatch.

Will smith won this year for that. if you look at the history of oscars best actors and the golden globes, you'll see that the oscars best actor was always from the list of nominees of the golden globe best actor in a motion picture drama (not musical or comedy) example: 2015 gg motion pic drama: leo dicaprio 2016 oscars: leo dicaprio 2018 gg motion pic drama: rami malek 2019 oscars: rami malek 2019 gg motion pic drama: Joaquin Phoenix 2020 oscars: Joaquin Phoenix i agree he was amazing in portraying jon and a great actor. he has tons of other amazing movies he did too, not just tick tick boom. i'm sure his oscar will come one day, but not this year teens are crazy and i know from first hand experience. when you're a teen you don't realize how annoying you are but when you grow up you realize ... lol

You're right. And all 5 of them appeared in Marvel movies. One has appeared in both Marvel and DC while one has contributed to 2 distinct Marvel characters!

Haha I was just thinking the same thing. Javier Bardem is the only one who hasn’t played a Marvel character.

@@codyhoskins1319 And Oscar Isaac has played 3 Marvel characters, or even 4 or 5 depending on how you count his characters in Moon Knight. Apocalypse in X-Men Apocalypse Spider Man 99 in Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse and its sequel coming out later this year. Moon Knight and all the characters that go with that - Marc, Steven, and probably at least one more - in Moon Knight.
