Adai & Chutney ! Traditional ! Tasty!No Onion ! No garlic!!

This video shows how to make a typical traditional dish from South India, which is a kind of crepe made from soaked and ground lentils. Tastes best when served hot. An ideal dish for breakfast ,teatime or dinner.
Ingredients
Rice 4 cups
Tuvar dal /pigeonpea lentils 2 cups
Channa dal 1 cup
Dry red chillies 4-5
Green chillies 2-3
salt o taste
Curry leaves a few
Hing/asafoetida 1/4 tsp
Drumstick/moringa leaves 2 -3 tsp(optional)
For chutney
Coriander leaves a bunch
green chillies 2
salt to taste
Tamarind a small piece/lemon juice 2 tsp

@@lalitha8021 Depends on which ones. The ones without coverings (bina chhilka) such as pink masoor and yellow channa dal can be soaked for a short while.

Looks so yummy..one of my most favourite recipes from my mom..we add even groundnuts, soaked yellow moong dal and spring onion before pouring the adai onto tava..thanks so much for showing so many yummy traditional recipes..

After trying all combinations we have settled for 1 measure each of rice and four dals. We like the taste and texture. Also we make idli and dosa with 1:1 ratio. Better for diabetics

geetadi i have cooked dosa with 1 udad dal - 1 masur dal 1/2 mung dal. and 1/2 whole mung . no rice dosa . and had with tomato chutney of your recipe ... my sil has stopped carbs ... so this turned out ver well .. can.ferment or without fermentation

Geeta, my millet Dosa doesn’t stay crisp after the third day in the fridge. I take 4 cups millet, 1 cup urad, and a little methi seeds. Is there anything else I should add ? Please advise.
