I own these monitors as well. The clarity is phenomenal! It’s so clear and smooth. I did have to turn the tweeter volume down though for my ears other than that I have zero complaints!

Yes!!!! I know right. It's a great thing they have that control on the back panel. It's like you can calibrate this for what you need them for. I'm glad you found them pleasing for your studio environment Jose! Team Adam!!! lol.

so youre saying at the end these mix more accurately than ur hs8's? what do you feel the hs8's were slightly off at? Not enough bass? Mids on mixes with them maybe felt lacking in translation? I just picked up some today and am wondering myself. I quickly heard some RU-vid songs on them when I picked em up which isnt the best idea but thats what I had to work with and they did sound a lil thin to me which I expected but ill have to wait till im fully set up to see for myself but am curious to hear from your experience. thanks

my first consideration for monitors, was the Adam 7x, which I have had for going on five years now. I used these type of transducers in PA's live back in the 70's and loved them then. Excellent choice for mid-priced monitors and a big feature is, get the right size speaker for the room they go in. I also now have a pair of IK Loud, and many have made the mistake of too much speaker for too small a room, just saying.

Archie thank you so much for making this video. Coincidentally, I've compared this A7x against Genelec 8030 at a music store and came to a conclusion that I will be buying the A7x as it has a more 'flat' sound IMO. It was great to hear your opinion on them. As it will be my first time buying studio monitors, I also need to purchase an audio interface. Is there a difference in quality between Universal Audio Apollo Twin Duo MKII and Audient iD14? The latter is a lot cheaper than the former so I'm wondering if it is a 'you-pay-for-what-you-get' kinda thing? I want to treat this passion of music production very seriously in the long term. Thank you so much.

Yes!!! The A7x are amazing. They are my go to and favorite mixing monitors now. Personally, I would go for the Apollo Twin because I'm a fan of the converters and the plugin DSP protocol. It will also last you a long time. I hope this helps and thank you for dropping by.

What’s up? Well I think it’s a more accurate and more detailed upgrade. The A7x delivers better quality mixes from my point of view and many others than the KRK VXT. I stand by them 🙏🏽

Shmojoe14 I know right. I wish there was a way to display the audio quality but as you know everyone playback monitoring watching this video is different. Also, it won’t do the monitors any justice. Hopefully the future will grant us the ability to do this 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

My opinion, yes. Due to more detail and clarity my higher end monitors possesses, I'm able to hear properly mix and surgically strength my project for my comfortability. Especially for higher end clients such as directors, TV production companies and labels when they come to hear playback and they are use to hearing their work at a $100 million dollar sound stage. There is a huge difference in sonic quality. With that being said, I can still get a great mix on my NS10s ($600) monitors and I can get great mix on my Adam S3H ($7000) monitors. It's all about what makes you comfortable as a creator and have you taken the time to get to know the monitors. Based on the fact that you said they already sound incredible, they are the monitors for you! Upgrade when it's absolutely necessary and you want something else.

I think the Adam A7x have a tad bit better sound quality but if your Fostex work for you, only upgrade if you want to learn something new. I hope this helps Romain.

I just ordered them coming from krkrokit 6 and Yamaha HS8. I gotta say I am thinking abou returning them. Low end on my HS8 was way more detailed than my A7X.

Oh wow. Even with the low cut engaged? Could it be that these have more bass overall which is revealing flaws in your acoustics? I'm on the fence between the HS8 and A7X!

I just got hs8's but need to buy cables to get started. You'd say they translate well bass into other playback? One thing I wonder is if TONE translates since they have a bit of an uncolored thinner sound I wonder how accurate ill get my tone for my instruments. I feel like Ill get the mix right but TONE is something I am curious about with monitors.

@@heythere6983 You are set with your HS8, just get your self balanced cables (XLR or TRS) and always remember it's your ear not the gear. It's all about getting used to the sound and using well mixed tracks as reference.

Ricardo Felix I started on krk rokit 6s. Moved to HS8’s and now a7x’s and I love them way more than the HS8’s. Not enough detail with the HS8’s, sure it was more low end being an 8” woofer but still not detailed across the entire spectrum like a7xs are.

don't pay for any microphone under $1,000. It's better to book studio time for recording than to record on a budget mic. Then just save up for a good mic or use credit or something. Also make sure ur room is treated that even more important than a microphone.

Koda Keller If you get a chance feel free to check out my channel, I record all my music in the backseat of my car and have the track engineered professionally by one of my good friends. The microphone I’ve been using for the past eight years has been The AT2035. Honestly you can have an $8000 microphone but without the right engineering via mixing in mastering the music won’t sound that professional. At this point I am just looking to upgrade my equipment to something newer.

I’m new to near field. Do near field monitors not sound very good if you are farther than 6 feet? What do they sound like at 15 feet? I’m trying to decide on what type of monitor to purchase for My son. He produces electronic music and is currently using a cheap Sony bookshelf speakers. Thanks

some monitors like JBL are better for farther distances and cover a larger span, also Kali's. However JBLs are sometimes said to make everything sound good so its not great for accurate and detailed monitoring. Different monitors will distribute the sound different.

before adam t series these A7x were entry level studio adam monitors, these cant compare to some true adam monitors these A7x are like 10 years model.

K Pov You mean the F series were the entry level Adams before the T series (the F series didn’t last long on the market) and then the A7 (not A7x) were the entry level before the F. The A7x are quite different from it’s brutal and bright ancestor. The new X-Art tweeter technology/room calibration opinions were added to the new A7x. They sound completely different in my opinion than the old A7. As I stated, they were bright and brittle in the top end and slightly muddier in the mids and lows. I totally prefer the A7x over the A7 any day. But my S3Hs destroys all 😂😂😂😂. Thanks for commenting.
