Welcome back to Mind Pump TV where we cover all things Health & Fitness to help you on your journey to reach your goals!
In today’s video, Adam demonstrates some of his favorite squat mobility priming exercises. The biggest takeaway from this video should be focusing on the intent of the movement just as much of the exercise itself. Your intention should be to practice connecting to the muscle group you are trying to prime. Try this out before your workout and let us know how you like it!
Assisted Deep Squat 0:46
- Think of keeping a flat balanced foot
- Drive knees forward
- Lift toes up
- Push knees outwards
- Grab assisted bar/rack
- Squeeze shoulder blades together
- Pull head back as close to a neutral spine as you can
- Intensify as much as you can
- 2-3 reps of 15 seconds
90-90 2:11
- Sit upright & tall as possible
- Engage your core to stay upright
- Line up back knee and hip with upper body
- Push front knee down
- Lean forward slow & controlled
- Hold for 5 seconds
- Maintain tension
- 5 reps & switch
Combat Stretch 4:14
- Push knee as far forward as you can
- Lift toes up
- Helps you mentally connect
- 5 reps for 5 second holds
Zone 1 Thoracic Mobility Test 5:05
- Lean back against the wall with feet 1ft away from wall
- Points of contact with wall
- Hips
- Tuck your tailbone
- Low back pressed against wall
- Upper back

Hi Adam, as a person who's dealt with pretty significant injuries, I really appreciate you sharing your struggle and how you came back from it to mentor others. I damaged the ulnar nerve in my right arm last year from planking and there was so much I couldn't do for about six months until it finally fully healed, so I get your frustration. I find it really inspiring to see you taking lemons and making lemonade. Thanks, man!

It is really nice to see that there are coming other trainers along, incorporating Functional Patterns ideas into their training systems. Though I focus on FP, I will definitely try these out, they make sense.

Omg thankkk you!!! This is exactly the kind of content I’ve been looking for!!!! I did this at the start of my workout, then followed with (based on your video) the correct way to do squats, split squats etc and I cannot believe the difference!!!! Even just stretching and getting my hips open - first time I’ve been able to squat to the floor!! I’ve been lifting to grow my legs and glutes and not seeing as much progress as I want and I think using your training guides is going to get me there!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Great help! Although, may I ask, how much flexion must there be in the knees when performing a squat? I recently watched another one of your videos regarding proper hip hinge movement and you mentioned that all you had to do was "soften the knees". Does this apply to the squat as well, or is there more flexion than compared to the hip hinge?

Great great video, so helpful, regarding the throasic exercise, if we're unable to hold the position with our elbows & hands touching the wall, should we still be doing it or should we be doing another exercise to help with this 1 in the future?

David Matthews keep doing it. Just remember to keep the points of contact while you’re trying to drive your wrist back

@davidmatthews6233
@davidmatthews6233 4 года назад
@@MindPumpTV what's the actual issue that's preventing me having the mobility or flexibility to touch the wall with my hands whilst having all the other points of contact with the wall? Is it lack of shoulder mobility? Or tightness in my shoulders or back? Also seems my right hand is slightly closer to the wall than my left
