Sounds like he was trying to help CPP sale some parts. He only said CPP or CPP 500 18 times . The information about all of parts that you have get was great 👍
Love your channel, it's my new favorite. Really like Teddy, I'm starting a 68 GMC SWB soon already got a No limit chassis pack and a Moser 9" full floater. Still gotta get a LS but gettin exited watching you guys..
I've yet to get that far. We're definitely running a big block radiator, Tejas Steelworks fan shroud, and two Spal Fans. We'll do a whole video on our cooling system.
keep up the good work! UBTK5 is looking better and better. I used the CPP 500 box on my 69 GMC 910 - you will notice the difference for sure. will make it feel like a race car.
From the last time I dropped my two cents, y’all have come alive!! Wow cherish your friendships, I wish I had friends that would grind the way y’all do. Was Rocky in the military? Is that a memorial bracelet on his wrist?
Just ordered the CPP 500 steering box from Summit racing for my 84 GMC pick up (texaco) that Clay owned a few years back. Hope it's as good as the reviews I've been reading.🤞
I was thinking of getting a 1976 chevy 5/4 ton(Canadian forces pre-cucv) tell me what you think? Here's some photos:www.mapleleafup.net/forums/showthread.php?t=24335
Sweet! Glad you dig it. I use a Nikon Z6 as the main camera with either a 35mm f/1.8 lens or a 24-70mm f/4 lens with multiple gopros. All shot in 4k. Trying to bring you all the best I can.
@UNITED BY TRUCKS Rob?!? You see what you did just there¿ That’s what we need in this world 🌍. Pass the knowledge, pass the fever 🥵, pass a hand 🤚 to the next man. You exemplify “Proverbs 27:17KJV IRON SHARPENETH IRON; SO A MAN SHARPENETH THE COUNTENANCE OF HIS FRIEND
Just started my 2wd K5 build on my channel. The UBTK5 is killer, I’ll be watching all you’re vids ok the series for some tech tips and ideas! Great videos keep it up.
I did a cpp 500 steering box on my 70 c10 too! Did mine a little different. I opted for a hydraulic brake setup. Plumbed it to the stock 5.3 steering pump with AN fittings and it works great.
Another great video!! Checked out the cpp webiste.. wish they had a pump for my 93 but I didn't see any.. however they did have gbody parts so I passed it along to my buddy who has a few Monte Carlos!! Can't wait for the next video!
I'm an old school guy and love what you've done with your trucks I have an 82 c10 and it's time for a new engine and I'm kinda in between with what engine to build for her I love tha Sbc and the BB tha guys I work with are ls fans and wanting me to take that route wondering what would be yalls or anyone's input on this to go old school or bump up to LS
Thank you very much! We like to keep a nice mix of original and custom. That said, depending on what your goals are, a fuel injected, tunable motor is a nice plus!
Cool details you have with the power steering box and fittings. It comes together easier when you have all the fittings you need a head of time which is nice to see.
No, they only work with the CPP 500 box, but that’s why it’s a custom look for factory style steering - meaning you don’t have to run a rack and pinion to get a custom look. The fittings on the pump side will work for all LS pumps.
The 1967 C10 has no indention on the frame for the steering gear. The only gearbox that would work is on that is flat on the mount side. Mine comes OEM with longer bolts and heavy steel tube stand offs like cut pipes. I use the Saginaw 800 series for the larger diameter piston and a heavier torsion bar and cut the pipe stand off's. The box sits at a slight angle to the factory manual box but I am familiar with frame breakage on Dodge Vans as I fixed 6 or 7 in a shop. We cut 5/16" plate from a template, to place inside the split frame. Plug welding help beef up the mounting with 1" welds in 5 locations. For those who's never seen one, it is like a weld box frame, simply split into a "Y" at each front corner. On the 1967, I had to move one hold only rearward and upward about 1/4" to allow bolts to screw in by hand. The front two bolts had 3/8" of the end cut off and tapered and all were grade 8. So, technically the 1967 C10 needing a P/S box installed has a flat frame with holes in the frame located further forward than others. Perhaps that's why 1967 is not listed in catalogs and videos include 1967 in the "Title" but are different. C10 PU, Panel and even the Suburban all are the same. 1966 and older with 1968 and newer are different. I really don't like the ones that have you drill out the threads on the bottom front hole to bolt a bracket to it. To me, this destroys the core in the future. I have rebuild a dozen of gear boxes and re-sealed 30 others, but they were all Saginaw 605, 800 series but have never seen a 500 with solid fronts. I guess the piston comes out the back thru the input shaft & control head. I am not sure where they were used on what vehicle. Vega? Monza? Pinto? Dodge Dart?
I think the power steering fittings for the ls power steering pumps are metric ORB , I think the fitting you need for that is m16x1.5 the russel number is 648060
Man I wish I could help out or just hang out with you folks, this is a cool project, it’s getting exciting with all the progress. If you guys ever come up to Northern California for any shows, let me know.
