Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! As you might have noticed, I've been away for a little bit, but I am back to share with you a wonderful meal called "Adas Polo" (عدس پلو با گوشت چرخ کرده) which is "Persian Lentil Rice". You can prepare it in a variety of ways, but today, I show you how to make it with minced meat which is my favorite variety.
And if you are vegan or want to make it without meat, it's still a delicious dish and you simply forgo the meat.

Ingredients List for this recipe:
2 1/2 cup rice
1 1/2 cup lentil
1 1/2 pounds lean minced beef
1 1/2 cup of dates
1 1/2 cup of raisins
1/2 to 1 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon coriander seed powder
1 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 Onions
Liquid Saffron (a pinch of ground saffron, mixed with a few tablespoons of hot water)
50 grams of butter
Cooking Oil as needed
