Thanks for the vid, I actually got mine open (T460) without removing that slot (pretty sure it's a SIM card reader). Mine was missing the battery plate so that sucked
@Lucky Vagabond yeah the part the sucked was not having screws lol but I got some so all good Also wish I had a placeholder for the external battery but oh well
I'm struggling with cash and need a laptop to get back in to work, got a video idea for you. film shopping 2nd hand laptops, buying a few. breakdown, clean and upgrade them. focusing on unique laptops like this lenovo (having a 2nd internal battery) also Microsoft Surface pro eventually I hope to setup a business that locally refurbishes computers for sale at good prices for those among us who cant afford thousand dollar devices. would really appreciate your feedback ❤
I've been in the refurbishing business before and the margins are very small. It's not worth the effort. Very few people want older laptops, so demand is low. You're better off stripping broken laptops and selling the parts. You won't lose money refurbishing laptops, but you just won't make much considering your time. Good luck.

Thanks for the video. My situation is a little different. I bought a refurbished t470 last year. It came with Windows 10 Pro. It has both batteries but I can't get it to see the internal battery. I replaced it. Still then nuked Windows and installed Linux Mint Cinnamon. I replaced the internal battery, but it still doesn't see it. I must be missing something probably obvious. I love this little rig for writing, email, and surfing the web.
@@LuckyVagabond I did update the bios. There was a new one that was released in late June. I also bought a new internal battery thinking maybe it was defective. I'm wondering if the company that refurbished it dismantled a connection or flipped a switch I haven't found yet... the fun continues.
whenever i charge the pc it seems like only the internal battery get to charge ; the exterior one always remains at 5% is there a way i can select which to be recharged ?
