I guessed 450 grams to a pound. I'm a bit surprised. How come my iPhone doesn't have the equivalent to my work computer's "I'm out of the office" message senders get when I get emails? We should have this for our phone and texts, texts mostly.

We call them smartphones or cell phones but nobody uses them as a phone anymore. In the 1950s the future was going to be phones where you could see who you were talking to. Now nobody wants to even talk, just text.

I doubt nowadays anyone younger than 40 knows what an imperial pound is. Having grown up with imperial before we converted to metric, I just use 2.2 lbs = 1 kg; 1.1 lbs = 500 g; 0.11 lbs = 50 g. 0.11 × 9 = 0.99 lb = 450 g.
