A rubber wear/scraper bar works wonders on the Blowers, another trick is to add a rubber paddle to each of the impeller blades to get the clearance to a bare minimum which allows for great slushy wet snow clearing

Good tips, I'll keep these in mind!

What I do is put a light bar on the blower and change the headlight wiring to incorporate a on/off/on rocker switch 1st on position for attachment light bar, 2nd on position for the factory location lights also you may want to look into adding a set of Hazzard lights onto the tractor to go with the rear lighting can be done with a separate Hazzard switch, or add a hitch mounted pole with a strobe light on top over head height

I would have recommended wiring the low-output side of the stop/turn/tail lights to the headlight circuit and wiring the stop/turn portion from the headlight circuit ahead of the headlight switch through a separate switch and an LED compatible flasher relay. The one light I cannot do without is a rear white work light so I can see to back up. I wire that so it's on whenever the headlights are on, which historically how farm tractor work lights are wired. Since lawn and garden tractors cannot legally run on the highway in most places, I never understood why manufacturers put useless red tail lights on the back but no work light. For my mowing tractors I also have a white forward-facing work light on each fender in addition to the headlights in the grille. If you buy a strobe light, make sure you get a certified Class 1 or Class 2, because the cheap non-certified strobes are junk. As far as traction goes IMHO tire chains are a must. If you're mostly plowing on gravel or dirt, get the bar reinforced kind. I have read that people seem to get good snow and ice traction without chains from Carlisle ''Versa Turf'' radial tires, however they are only available in a limited choice of sizes. From my experience turf tires without chains don't work unless conditions are ideal - which they usually aren't. Always have plenty of shear bolts. I plow with a blade and haven't broken a shear bolt in 5O years. I hope you have gotten more snow where you are than we have here in SE PA. My snow plowing season has been a bust.

That's a good Idea with the lights. Chains seem to be working great, I think I may need to use some wheel weights in addition to my rear weight just to help with some spinning I get but nothing that's the end of the world. And yea, we've had a pretty poor winter in terms of snowfall. I've only used the blower 4 times and it's only been about an inch or two of snow each time.
