This year we are installing a 48" dozer blade on a Craftsman Garden Tractor with 55 pound wheel weights and 2 link tire chains in preparation for 6 inches of snow. The plow is model number 486.244122 Mr Tecumseh channel / mrtecumseh
This is what YT is all about. Helping each other out and by showing what we know so others can learn. I also enjoyed the fact you left the expletive in the video. Lots of YTbers edit to make it look super simple but you are keeping it real. Great work look forward to future videos.
@@5beesgarage I'm glad guys like you are on YT cuz if the snow was coming and I had to hook up that plow with no video I would of been trapped under the plow with the snow on top!
@@5beesgarage This might be a long shot but I was wondering if you could help me out. I have all the stuff except those long rectangle brackets that you are hanging from the bottom of the tractor. would it be possible to get some measurements on those so I can make them myself
Daniel, thanks for the comment. I actually had a GT5000 about 15 years ago with AG tires. They didn't work well. I found turfs with chains and weight is the best recipe on concrete and blacktop. All though that was with a 48" blower hanging off the front instead of a plow.
This is AWSOME. I got the same tractor with the same plow with harware missing.I think the same hardware you were missing. I got it to work with what I got and figured out, but now I can get it to go up n down the way it was designed. I made a bracket that wraped around the lift handle and ran a cable to a lift arm I made, simular to my GT John Deere. supported the front that slides in, ( kept coming off ) All wotked ok and moved ALOT of top soil n snow last couple years with my setup. But now I know where them brackets go and the lifting part. Great video
Man I wish that I could find those 2 components. The lift assembly & the centering assembly! If you got some suggestions or extra parts I could use the help!
HI 5 Bees Garage, @ 3:56 there are two front bracket that mount the plow. Do you have their part number by chance? I am missing those two pieces. Thank you in advance.
I just got the same snow plow but the original owner cut off the mounting arm! I was wondering if you or someone else could give me the dimensions? I’m gonna manufacture my own arm for it.
Well actually it turns out those two brackets you installed to raise and lower the blade aren’t manufactured anymore and I can’t find them used so I’m just gonna build an arm running back to the deck lift with pins, but yes I do need the dimensions for that support bracket. Thanks
Do you have the correct part number for the wheel weights? Did you buy them new at Sears recently? I recently bought some new and when they arrived they were for a Husqvarna..not correct.
@@alancolvincom If you can not find them at retail or internet stores then Craigslist or Facebook would be a good bet. They are there, just be patient and know what you are looking at as most people have no idea what they have.
The dimensions of the brackets that your are putting on at the 5 minute mark. If I could somehow get the measurements for those brackets it would be greatly appreciated
Hi Tiler, Do you have the hitch plates? I can get you the measurement for those brackets from my dozer if you can get me the measurement for the hitch plates that I don't have. Thank you
@AB Metal Fabrication LLC hitch plates? Exactly witch ones are those.and I was able to make the ones I was looking for but I can still help get you measurements for ones you need
@@tilermissey1864 HI Tiler Missey. Thank you for getting back to me. This is the Part number craftsman hitch "23652" I found online. There are two front plates (bracket) where the whole plow unit get to hook onto. Each plates has J-hook and 3 holes. 2 small holes about 3/8" diameter and one big one about 3/4" diameter. @ 3:56 minute in the video you will see the hitch plates that I am describing. Thank you in advance.
