I added slats to my DIY CNC plasma table in this video. the slats are made of 16ga hot rolled steel. I made the slat supports out of 1 1/2" angle, cutting one leg of the angle every 3". I used the CNC plasma table to cut the slats. it did work out the greatest because of an ARK ok light issue. im super happy with how the slats came out.
Thanks for Watching!

Thanks for the video! I'm DIY'ing my 4x8 CNC router table with a removeable water tray and torch holder to dual-purpose it for plasma cutter...I needed a slat scheme for my SS tray. I'll have a 42" by 96" tray 3" deep. I think I'll use your trick here, only I might not tack weld the holders to the tray. Great video. Really appreciate you sharing your idea!

Are you using a High Frequency plasma torch? Might be EM interference causing arc issues

Would you still make the slats from 16 gauge ? Any other thing you would have made differently ?

The slats have been great. 16 gauge works me. The one thing I’d change is the motors I have. Bigger motors would shorten my acceleration ramps and square corners on parts I cut out. I may have to get different motors or make the table smaller

Great video...how heck did you get you chop saw that precise

I used my trusty eyecrometer lol. I figured if my cuts were close enough the slate itself would make the surface flat. Then my digital height control would take care of the rest.
