AddMotoR MOTAN M150-P7 Review - $1.6k

The AddMotoR MOTAN M150-P7 is a fat tire folding electric bike that comes in four different color schemes with steel fenders that are less likely to rattle when riding but could rust if scratched. Integrated headlight provides ample illumination, 750 watt fatbike specific hub motor offers good power and wheel strength, 552 watt hour battery is larger than average for a folder. Comfortable ride with plush saddle, ergonomic grips, and front suspension offering 100 mm of travel, telescoping stem helps to accommodate a wide range of rider heights. Not especially lightweight (even though it looks compact), it's a fun bike that should perform well on loose terrain like snow, sand, mud, and gravel but lack of bosses for bottle cage and racks does limit utility a bit.

Great review! I have the M150-P7 for a month and since then, I can not stop ridding it. I have already reached over 400 miles. This is the best upright seating position e-bike, which makes it the most comfortable ride you have ever experienced.

For being the producer, cameraman, script writer, technical advisor and host of this video you did a great job! I learned a lot. I am seriously considering purchasing one of the AddMotoR MOTAN's.

Get a Rad Mini. 750 watts, 14 ah battery, front suspension. Great service from US company. $1499 with free shipping. Fenders are extra, but honestly...you have recourse with a toll free service number and a company that stands behind its bikes.

I agree, Kathy! I have a 2017 Rad Mini, myself, and I love it! There is, of course, room in the marketplace for others, as well! As Mike points out below, Rad is struggling to keep up with the demand for parts and accessories, so it's a good thing they're not the only company out there!

Court's reviews played an important part in my decision to get the Mini last year...glad I did! Thanks, Court!!

Well, to be honest they're all the same chinese e bikes. Rad has some unique parts like the frame design, which still imo is not really better than the original frame that AddMotor / VoltBike and all the other sticker brands have. I think they wanted the chinese to make the Rad frame different just to try to separate from the rest, not because it had any benefit over the original.

Another great review "in the can", Brent! The drone footage really rounds things out for a complete perspective. The new innovations are important because you and Court are the ones all the other reviewers are trying to mimic! Keep up the great work! Thanks!

I bought a Radmini for $1500 and it includes shipping and warranty. It's a very similar bike. A fat tire folding bike. Ordering an expensive item from AliExpress is a lot of risks. It's not always just about saving money. I would pay extra for peace of mind in getting a quality bike, with warranty, a local company that can help me. A had an issue with the Radmini controller and the company sent me a free replacement. Try that with AliExpress.

I have a similar style bike..."Airstream 805", 350 watt...and narrower tires allows you to place it on Public Transit Bike carriers, Trains, etc. Wasn't my first choice in a Electric Bike, but proved to be the intelligent choice...very versatile.!
@BrightMomentsNOLA

Narrow tires are a hazard here because of trolley tracks.

Nice review. One point, it looks like the rear fender is backwards. If turned the opposite way seems like it would deflect more rain water or mud. Just say’n. Thanks

I have two. I would highly recommend. Yes the fenders don't do anything. Useless. I'm looking forward to summer. I had this in the snow , it was fun. All round fun and high quality. I'll be upgrading with this brand again

We have two as well, the older 500w version and they are completely reliable and the tires don't get stuck in the trolley tracks in New Orleans.

My friend bought this bike. It snapped in half at the center weld by the fold lock. He ended up in the ER and out of work. All city riding too, not off-road. Be careful sounds like a bad frame.

Yes, but all less expensive bikes will have possible defects, since there are fewer ( or none at all) manufacturing QC points. Make / ship / sell.....that's the game.

Love your reviews. No matter how crappy a bike is you seem so positive. The bike can be bought off Alibaba for less than half the price. And even that seems too much for that pile of junk. Communication problems, unclear what you're getting. Frame flex and wobble. Back heavy. Steel fenders. Nothing fits without the need to bend the parts. Delays in the assist. LOL.

Hey! I'll jump into this Kong forgotten video and comment! One thing, the folding joint in your video appears to be the "old" cuff/folding mech. Apparently.. these bikes have been snapping in half at this part of the bike. Has this happened to yours? I just ordered one of the P7's and was told the locking mechanism has been updated to a newer style, to prevent the bike from snapping in half. Have you heard of those stories? Thanks!

Brent McCluskey - Electrified Reviews Thanks! It's 100 pounds empty and we carry up to about 200 pounds more depending on the project. We clean the windows on 7 and 8 story buildings out of our cargo bikes ha ha so much fun... Free parking everywhere! No traffic! Instagram "purewaterpurebike" for photos. The Mariner is the 500 watt nominal version. It's surprisingly powerful! I didn't use my truck once in 2017! 2,500 km total. We're putting together some videos of our cargo bike business at our RU-vid channel "Urban Cargo Bikes". Thanks for the question. All the best!

I've been looking to get a ebike for a bit now and I was first interested in the RamMini but I will never have a chance to get one as they sell out so fast. I found this on Amazon and it looks like a good alternative but I want to know about getting support from the company and replacement parts. I saw some "cheaper" bikes similar that had a lot of reviews saying they got nothing when they contacted the company/support. If you are able to tell me anything about the brand it would be helpful, thanks.

Can you do a video about add motor motan m-150 possible upgrades. I have a 2017 model and I want to change the crankset to a Shimano or SRAM. I know that I need a 170mm, single speed, 48 Teeth, But I need to know what the Bolt Circle Diameter (BCD) for these bikes is? Any recommendations on crankset in correct size would be great.

I enjoy watching your channel, but I think you should have begun the review with the action shots that appear at 23:00. That bike looks like a lot of fun. Your channel should feature elbow / knee protection. Theres going to be a lot of people buying e-bikes, many of whom may not have been near a bike in years. Should be plenty of manufacturers willing to send you body protection to test. Maybe the body protection will evolve into something more casual/ 'street'? Cheers!

Right, they are completely useless. I bought the plastic ones they have for another version and just had to bend the mounting bracket for the rear fender to make it work..
