Sensor carts are still going strong in my area. Walmart, Meijer and Kroger all carry them. I prefer the original Sensor myself, but Excel is fine too. I've seen new Sensor handles on Ebay for over 100 bucks.

Talk about collectible Gillette Sensors…I had the NBA edition. Had an NBA logo on it and I was actually able to get an autographed Karl Malone All Star hat from 1993 I believe. I am a Jazz fan, so that is how I probably came to own the NBA version. That’s probably Big Money now!

I obtained a bottle of Pulse that my father had when he passed away. It was great, I used it right after I shaved before work. It was great, I liked the scent. I'll have to try and get another bottle.

I have the Adidas Pure Game and Adidas Extreme Power. Both smell nice but I don't use them that often. Maybe I should today. Part of the reason why is because I have more than 10 aftershaves and usually only shave once a week.

Still love your videos. Thanks. I do miss when you would weave non shaving clips into your videos. Things like your garden, your dog, a road trip, building your shed , a restaurant, etc. You would find a way to make it relevant to the shave video and it was genius. I know you must have tonnes of comments and requests but it'd be good to get your Yaqi double open comb out for the next shave and pair it with a feather. I did the same and got BBS with zero irritation (I have fairly sensitive skin and suffer on the neck)

I went from the DE (Slim Adjustable) to Atra just to try a cartridge razor and found the Atra more convenient. I've basically shaved with the same Atra for nearly 40 years with the exception of a few years with the Sensor. I ran out of Sensor cartridges once and switched back to Atra as my go to. I bought a 10-pack of new Sensor Excel cartridges for $11.83 on EBay yesterday and will give it another try for a while just for a change of pace. BTW, I've still got all three razors and a Black Beauty and all are in very good shape considering the mileage. The Adidas colognes I haven't tried, but the body washes are very good.

I was holding off shaving with the sensor for the new year, slapped on the Nivea for Men gel, popped a blade in, and it just plowed through the hair. Never going to switch to anything else I think, mind you if I want another handle( or 2) it's going to be a few 100$'s for me Canadian (damn shipping)

My first razor. If I ever went back to cartridge this would be the razor. Good for a daily driver but try mowing down more than a days stubble and you get too much tugging for my tastes.

Love the Sensor Excel. Its what I used when I first started shaving in the '90s. I still feel that Gillette maxed out cart performance with the 2-blade carts. I go back and forth between my DE and the Mach 3 now and dont feel that the Fusion is really an improvement on the Sensor or Mach 3.

IMO, the Mach 3 is the best one they make. Ive tried the Fusion and the new Proglide one with the ball joint in the head and I dont feel its an improvement. Honestly, if they still made the Sensor in a 2-blade cart, Id be all about it but I only ever see it in a disposable. The Atra is another option but the blades are so expensive for it. You cant beat the Mach 3 carts for $9.99 for 4 of them and if you do the mail-order Gillette Direct program, every 4th one is free.

Used the Adidas Ice Dive today since my wife does not like all the vintage after shaves that I bought when I rediscovered wet shaving a few months ago. I was shocked how it burns after a three pass shave with a Feather blade 😁 Not bad for a €4 after shave 👍🏻

Well okay, it was after all your shave. Hahaha! Got the job done and no issues to boot. Hey, if it works, why not for a change. Variety in your shaves makes for good entertainment Ken. Glad it turned out ok. I have a box full of old cartridge razors, never even think about them any more. Shame as they were part of my shave history. PAA came out with a SS 316 DOC razor, 3 piece, twist adjustable....cool. Great video and chat. Enjoy!

Great shave Kensurfs! The problem today in my opinion is that it is difficult to find sharp and good blades of Gillette Sensor Excel I bought a few days ago Sensor Excel blades made in Poland and they feel dull and not sharp at all from the first shave, and I also got some nicks because the blade was not sharp and I had to apply pressure to the skin. Anyone know where to get quality Gillette Sensor Excel or even the regular sensor blades? And not made in Poland because they are not of sufficient quality. Thanks :)

Whenever you find yourself using a vintage aftershave, does it always seem to keep its smell after all these years? I see a lot of your videos where you use an old aftershave and I would think that it would smell "rancid" or "out of date". Keep up the good work. Enjoy your videos!

Hey, Ken! Great video as always! I'm not sure about the black handle in Europe, gray in the US thing actually - here in Norway we had the Gillette Sensor, which had black "fins" on the handle (this was my first razor incidentally, mid-nineties), as well as the Sensor Excel, which is the one you use in the video. I think this was a slight improvement on the Sensor design or something. So we had both for a while, before the Excel took over completely. You never had the black one, called just "Sensor", in the US? I can still find the Sensor Excel blades here and there in Norway, and I belive the blades for the Sensor and the Sensor Excel are interchangeable.

I finally Have the Gillette sensor 3 cartridge Razor I ordered it on eBay my first item on eBay and it was a success that Gillette sensor 3 looks like your Gillette sensor Excel Kensurfs but it has The 3 bladed cartridge Razors with the three blade's on The cartridge instead of the two on The Gillette sensor Excel plus it fits all Gillette sensor cartridge refills The original Gillette sensor The Gillette sensor Excel and the sensor 3 and it's The last Gillette sensor to have those handles like yours

Ok had my 8:00 shower and shave I used my home made shave soap goats milk melt and pour with hemp oil with Apple cider bentonite with the scents of vanilla tobacco then topped it off with the adidas pulse then used Vikings frost for the post shave and all I can say os omg .... can’t get a second opinion my wife hates cologne but damed good shave never the less and I can’t believe I went all these years without

My Dad used to use The Gillette sensor Excel my Dad before that he used The Gillette Atra my Dad passed away on February 25 2015 my Dad gave me one of his razors The Gillette Mach 3 I bought those Gillette sensor 3 disposable razor and I found out that the Gillette sensor 3 disposable razor is a cartridge razor compatible it fits The Gillette sensor Excel I want to buy a Gillette sensor 3 cartridge razor it looks like your Gillette sensor Excel but it has 3 blade's instead of two

I never heard of a 3 pass shave until wetshaving. Didn't know it was a thing. It took me a week of watching shaving vids to figure out why these guys shave 3 times.

Vintage Life Ha ha! Not me either! Mostly did just one pass and pick ups. Used barbasol and pasted it on my face with the fingers and then shaved. It worked quite well for 37 years😉

Ha ha! Me too. Barbasol works fine. If I make any shaving vids, the wetshavers are going to be pissed off. I can do a BBS shave 1 pass in less than 5 minutes. I used to press pretty hard and never got a cut. Its a real art to DE shave. That's actually what I like about it. But I wish people weren't hyping it up.
