A shave using the classic Drakkar Noir Aftershave and Cologne from the 1980’s. This video is one in a series where I try some classic Aftershaves and Colognes. The newer Shaving generation might not have heard of these classics.
The fragrance is an aromatic fougère, with top notes of bergamot, rosemary, lavender, middle notes of cardamom and geranium, and a dry down of vetiver, cedar, and fir balsam

used Drakkar noir in the 80's loved it . i have the RazoRock HAWK - V2 ELECTRIC BLUE ,use it with elegance plus shaving gel (jupiter) and i get the greatest shave .

Funny but Drakkar Noir and Obsession were my go-to colognes in the 1980s until the mid-90s. I used Eternity too, which got a lot of compliments much to the annoyance of a girlfriend who HATED it lol. Still have my Sensor Excel razor too, which was my reliable for a long time.

Drakkar Noir, that takes me back. I've been enjoying these classic cologne series. They bring back memories good, and bad. I don't mind reminiscing about them at all. I've noticed the Excels have become scarce. great job Ken! It's okay to say jesus, it's only a word. There's no harm done. Enjoy the weekend.

WOW! Del Taco. Have not heard that fast food restaurant name since I left Texas in 1987. Sure do miss some of the places and memories. Use to love to eat at a place called Fish N'Chips too. We would go to the car wash across the street and offer to dry the cars coming out of the automated car wash. Man those were the days. And another place I miss is Jack n' the Box. Loved those soggy tacos with there hot sauce . Man the memories

I shaved with the sensor excel yesterday and it was the most comfortable shave I’ve ever had. I’m not one for the placebo effect but it works good. It’s well balanced because of the metal in it and it’s good, I remember when you said that when they would prepare for the movie “Private parts” they would shave the cast members with the sensor excel because it had a tendency to not cut you.

Just wanted to drop in and say I enjoy your videos. I started wet shaving around a year and a half ago. Had to give it up after 6 or 7 months. I could not get a good consistent shave. I started wet shaving again this month. I picked up a new razor. A huge difference. A much smoother shave.. Keep up the great work and all the best.👍

Hey Ken another awesome shave and I wish we had some of your warm weather. Here in Missouri we had snow this morning but it's gone now. Not too normal for us in April Lol. Had a great shave before I went to work today! Used my Feather blade on its 4th and final time in my satin chrome Parker Variant. Next it's my Gillette Wilkinson Sword. My other razor is a Merkur 15c. Have a good night and look forward to the next shave 💈

I love, and still wear, Drakkar. When I met my wife, she laughed at me for still wearing it. However, she always compliments me when I wear it. Now she grudgingly admits she likes it. By the way Ken, I have the 6.7 oz EDT. 😁

Wow I use to wear Drakkar noir as a young kid back in the early 2000's before I switched to Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue. I would have never considered it a classic today, kind of makes me want to get a bottle and give it a try again.

Another great shave in the books Ken. Yeah people are discovering that you can use traditional shave soaps with cartridge razors & these Gillette Sensor Excells don't cost a lot. I remember both of those Drakkar Noir commercials. Ginger's Garden has that listed in her scent list.

I found some Drakkar Noir at a local store, but my wife doesn't care for it either. I have the Stirling Noir and it pairs really well with orange. I did a video where I mixed Noir and Satsuma. It was nice.

I used Drakkar Noir EdT in the 80's and I have always liked it a lot. Of course I have "Stirling Noir" in my rotation too. It's a great soap, like all Stirlings, but the scent is not spot on Drakkar, but it is still very good. And I still have that old heavy Sensor Excel handle like you, although mine has a darker colour, it's the European version. 💈👍🏼

Cool, a time machine, fun video Kensurfs. I guess i was lucky then when i found the original Gillette Sensor Exel, produced before P&G bought up Gillette, i have two, new ones in box, one who was produced by Gillette and the other one was after P&G bought the company. I like old moives also, i saw the Omega man not long time ago, i like it, Charlton Heston, fun film, kinda sad ending.

I have a cartridge razor in storage, at a friend's place, and it is Mach III compatible. It came with a really cool set, with brush, mirror, bowl, and soap. Unfortunately, a lot of the hair fell out of the brush, and it needs reknotted.

Wow Ken, Drakkar Noir, I have fond memories of that smell of the 80s, that along with Chanel Antaeus, Paco Rabanne original, and my all time favourite which is Yves saint Laurent's Kouros, Which most people can't stand the smell of but I absolutely adore it. It's readily available in the UK as well and still has a price to it, I think a 50ml bottle is still around £30?! Anyway great shave my friend, see you soon 😉👍🌹

Im only 23 but I love Obsession, it's easily my favourite fragrance. Bought a bottle of Drakkar Noir a few weeks ago and I really like that too. One spray on my neck and wrist is enough so its not too overpowering. Its got a really nice almost soapy smell to it. Dont know if 90s could be considered classic yet but have you ever tried Versace Blue Jeans? That along with CK One are really nostalgic for me. Blue Jeans was the first cologne I ever owned and my favourite until I discovered Obsession. Also love the shirt! Im not a Newcastle fan (a Celtic and Manchester United fan) but that is an iconic one for sure.

I hate how expensive the Sensor is on the internet, but I remember when the Atra went for big prices on eBay, now you can find them pretty cheap, so I hope that the Sensor does the same. I have one, but it’s aging and I’m afraid it might break.

Great shave. Unfortunately, I still use cartridge razors for my face. However, instead of using Fusion or Mach3 razors, I use disposables from Bic and Gillette. I don't watch Clint Eastwood movies that much, but I'm down to watch Dirty Harry. Stirling Noir is on my list

Late to this video, but if you break another pull cord on your mower, you can start it with drill. Just use a socket adapter that fits in your drill, and the appropriate sized socket for the flywheel. Just be careful to pull the socket off fast when it gets going or the socket will go flying off

I bought the van der Hagen de razor for shaving my neck under my beard. Pretty cool and whole new experience for me. But I've been looking at the merkur mustache brow eyebrow razor for trimming around the beard. Any experience with such a razor? Heard the blades suck though.

Makes me now want to watch Hatari...I think I’ll do that...ah good old “Pockets” and on a side note...the sensor isn’t hard to find..just...stupid expensive lol(unless you have American money then it isn’t as bad)...Guess I'd have to try the Dorco Twin I suppose...Or! just stick with the Schick ST2. Ever used that razor?

Actually the Gillette Sensor Excel didn't come out until 1993, not the 80s. I remember the Gillette Sensor was released in 1991.....I did a little checking on Google.

I finally got my Gillette sensor 3 cartridge Razor That I ordered on eBay since it's The first item I ever bought on eBay and mission success and the handle on my Gillette sensor 3 cartridge Razor is like your Gillette sensor Excel handle and the same case for it except my Gillette sensor 3 has three blade's instead of two that the Gillette sensor Excel has but The handle looks like your Gillette sensor Excel exactly identical isn't that amazing
