CB110, a very small version of the CB1100?
@jefft137

You only need to loosen and tighten the axle nut (not a bolt) on the right side. The left side is just a hex head on the axle made to allow you to keep it from spinning as you tighten and loosen the axle nut on the right.

Thanks for that Jeff! Thought it was something like that.

Phil great video and tutorial on the chain. I plan to get this done today, as I haven't even checked the chain tension in the last two years since I've owned this bike. Thanks a lot!

@@phillyjaybro Follow up: I measured my chain last night and it was at 50mm. Not toooo bad, but clearly out of spec. I adjusted the rear and got the spec to about 30mm. Cleaned and lubed the chain too. Thanks!

Pro Tip : Before tighten your axle, fold a rag 4 or 5 times and roll the wheel backwards pulling the rag between the chain and sprocket. This will pull the rear wheel up against the adjuster bolts ensuring that the wheel is truly aligned properly.

You must not have watched!
@fossaticompositesinnovatio5885
@fossaticompositesinnovatio5885 3 года назад
@@phillyjaybro brother, I did watch it. The only problem is that you rolled the wheel forward pulling the wheel forward yes, but putting the functional slack on the other side of the chain. I hope I explained that in a way you understand. I didn't mean any disrespect at all, I love the fact that you have a channel dedicated to informing riders for $0 other than ad revenue. Keep going dude. 💪 I was just trying to add to the specificity, that when I worked for Factory KTM we were taught the other way
@phillyjaybro
@phillyjaybro 3 года назад
Ahh!! No way! Haha I had no idea. I thought you were just suggesting to use the rag.. Thanks for the tip!! I guess the way I did it doesn’t do anything then 😂

No more cafe brotha? I'd recommend Renthal Ultra low(handlebar) gives a more leaned look with same comfort as the OEM!

How’ did you put the center stand back on without having the stop?
@phillyjaybro
@phillyjaybro 3 года назад
Hey Matt, I just keep the center stand in the garage so I can throw the bike up when I need to do maintenance. I just slide the center stand into place, sometimes with a small bolt to keep the axel from sliding out, and sometimes I don’t even do that as it seems to be sturdy for just pushing the bike up.

Hi, Did you change your brake rotor, or you have any ideas to get a spare one. I need to replace for my CB1100 2013, but after search around all i found is the one ship from China which take almost 2 months.
@phillyjaybro
@phillyjaybro 3 года назад
Hey Hung, I have not changed my brake rotor. I did a quick look and also didn’t see anything readily available. Have you checked with Honda directly? I would assume they have them in stock, just maybe a bit pricey

Hung, I strongly recommend going to the Honda dealer and getting parts from them. I would stay away from any parts made in China, particularly brake parts. Brakes are the most important safety item on the bike, why take a risk?

Have you had your valve clearance checked? Just wondering, I’ve got same bike getting close to my maintenance check at 8,000 miles, thanks
@phillyjaybro
@phillyjaybro 2 года назад
I have not. I'm just over 6,000 currently. I've read a lot of threads about that though and most people never needed adjusting on their 8k check so could always give her some more miles if you're looking to hold out!

@@peterweise3836 Sounds good Peter. I have 14,000 miles on my CB now and just changed the oil. She runs great. I checked the spark plugs and they look fine as well. Not going to replace them until at least 20k miles.

I just had my 14 Deluxe in for tire mounting. And for what it's worth, I asked my mechanic about the valve clearance check. He said "honestly with these CB's, if its not showing signs of valve issues, I wouldn't bother checking them until over 20K."

Overall good video. However...I see this far too often, a torque wrench is not a breakerbar or ratchet. Never use it for one! Also store it with the reading at zero, wound down.

You've done this incorrectly you should always check your tension with the weight of the motorcycle on the rear tire not suspended on the center stand.

No, you are wrong. CB1100 manual says that you should check slack when bike is on its center stand (page 78)
