I think the new update broke RCON? I get a FATAL Error now, connection failed though I am doing everything right. it worked fine before the new update?
FYI, when you've became an admin, you can press esc and the online players will appear in the options tab, you can click a specific name and it will copy their steamID to your clipboard.
Does anyone know how to Force Save a backup on a dedicated server? using Nitrado and they have daily auto saves but im wanting to find the option to force save.
Just to be sure, you need to edit the file in XXX\Pal\Saved\Config\WindowsServer\PalWorldServer.ini, not the DefaultServerSettings.ini in the root directory of your server. Hope that helps
@@Assassin8erated I edited the "AdminPassword" in the "PalWorldServer.ini" file instead of the "DefaultServerSettings.ini" in the game's root directory, but I still encounter the "Admin Password not set" issue. Why is this happening?
@@Assassin8erated Yeah I did that. My death drop works. My gather rates work. My entire server is working the way I want. Just can't get the admin working nor the name of my server to change from default.
How would one go about setting up a script to automatically run the /save command at regular intervals so the server can have an auto-save function? From what I saw on the Github page, Arrcon supports the use of script files, but I honestly wouldn't even know where to begin with that.
The game has a built-in autosave function it saves every like 5min it's the reason why when the game crashes you don't lose all that much progress and in my experience it's pretty reliable
It would be in the Config file for the server. If self hosting, this will be on your PC in your game install location. If not selfhosting, then you will need to probably FTP the files, save a backup of original config, make changes and save, unless your server host provides direct changes. Survivalservers offers direct access to these changes in their control panel for servers for example.
Ok today i logged on after a server restart and all characters have been reset but everything is still on server (buildings pals and such) how do i fix/ admin command take the guild back?
If you never fixed this issue, Its because if your running it from the "PalServer.exe" and then run it from lets say "PalServer-Win64-Test.exe" or "PalServer-Win64-Test-Cmd.exe" for some reason, it saves the characters differently but the world save will be the same.
The only reason you would run the second .exe file i mentioned is if your running mods on the server because the injector wont use the PalServer.exe. I doubt that's what happened to you, but it is how i found the issue.
defaultpalworldsettings.ini is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PalServer copy the contents of that ini into the empty Palworldsettings.ini located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PalServer\Pal\Saved\Config\WindowsServer
Fix for the 'Admin Password not set' issue: If you organized the ini file so that each setting is on a seperate line like this, Then for some reason it wont work. Don't know why. [/Script/Pal.PalGameWolrdSettings] needs to be on the top line. Everything else needs to be contained in 2 lines like this. Its messy and I have not found an alternate solution yet. Still working on it.
how do you send a proper broadcast message with space using Arrcon? when I typed "Broadcast hello world" it only appears "hello" I've tried using " " ' ' < > { } they all only come out as the first word n 2nd word onwards it doesn't show
@@aren012 heya mine is set to enable, and port is the same; my guess is 2 things : ur palworldsettings.ini is fucked and the settings doesn't actually register, OR u were changing the wrong ini file, make sure its the file inside Pal > Saved > Config > WindowsServer another solution can be to delete the ini file, run the server once, close it, then replace it with the defaultpalworldsettings from the outside folder then change the settings again hope that works
Probably you create an shell/bat file that execute the command with an PARAM for /save your server. I do not host any server but it's pretty easy to setup anything like that :)
You would have to run the non steam dedicated server (he made a tutorial on that). You will either need a game server pc or have your pc running all the time or at least during the day and you will have to port forward and all that. I'm currently going through the process of making a game server pc for this so if you have any questions feel free to reply.
There are two Ini files, one called DefaultPalWorldSettings and one several folders deeper in Pal\Saved\Config\WindowsServer called PalWorldSettings.ini The Default one just lists what you can change you need to copy whats in Default into PalWorldSettings.ini and then change them
ran into this issue as well... i failed to have [/Script/Pal.PalGameWorldSettings] on the first line paste that in the first row then the settings below it.
@@neage7171 That is there. I have double triple and quadruple checked every inch of my ini file. Checked locations checked spelling errors checked if there was any extra space. I can not get it to work.
