Lived in Sussex for a year when I first left my family home in Fairvale 35 years ago. I barely recognize the place now. A chance meeting at that very McDonalds in the video saw me head to Toronto and changed my life for the better. Before that meeting I hadn't thought of Toronto or leaving NB.
@@ayelilshawtyy3050 My parents decided to move from Fairvale, New Brunswick to Quebec, I didn't want to go, so I stayed behind and moved to Sussex just before my grade 12 graduating year. Who am I kidding, there was a girl involved... there is always a girl involved. LOL. So anyhow, between going to school full time, supporting myself and having time for my new girlfriend, something had to give and I and my best friend got kicked out of school May of our graduating year. My friend and I were sitting in McDonalds, figuring our our next move, when another friend of his came into the McDonalds, just back from Toronto and was telling us about all of the opportunities there. Few weeks later, we were on our way to Toronto. The rest as they say is history.
Great video:) Sussex is a very pretty town. If you like the outdoors - check out the store Outdoor Elements (they rent winter sports equipment in Fundy National Park too) Sussex Bluffs is a great place to hike as well - incredible views. We love New Brunswick! 😉💕
Prices are going up because there is a lot of demand to live a better life in the Maritimes from people in other parts of the country. Unfortunately, that means it is already difficult for many locals to compete.
@Ahir1990 hello there i want to ask you couple of questions related to sussex nb. actually i am an upcoming international student at the Kingswood university sep 2024. I want know more about Sussex is sussex a good place to settle down and what about accomodation options as well as part time jobs ???????
So the husband got permanent remote. I am a hospital professional not too keen about return to the hospital (for obvious reasons). Four young children. Looking to get out of Ottawa. Looking for safe, quiet, friendly communities close to the ocean or water. Prefer city services over well and septic. Do you guys have a listings site?

Can you tell me about social activities for a mature adult (55 plus but not yet retirement age) who is single, has no children, and has no family left? I recently became interested in Sussex but am worried about being too isolated, especially not working outside the house and having no partner, children or family. How welcoming is it for newcomers? What sort of social activities are there to get involved with?
I guess it depends on how you put yourself out there. It's always hard meeting new people. We have a single friend here who joined a curling league, will be joining a lawn bowling club, joined the YMCA. There's always volunteering, there's work functions, there are lots of things to get involved with in a city this size, and people here are very welcoming. The hard part is actually doing it.
@@WeLoveSaintJohn Sussex is a nice place thanks for the amazing video we also love travelling around the maritimes and love going different places! Took me there with my dad and his sister and we loved Sussex!
