Hystamine makes elevated cortisol which causes weight gain which causes all sorts of problems. It has wrecked my body causing severe anxiety and depression. It's taken me 10 years to find the culprit. I never knew hystamine was related to anxiety and depression. Why don't doctors tell you this? Our healthcare system is broken in the US. They would rather drug me for anxiety and depression instead of fixing the underlying cause which is hystamine intolerance. I'm so angry!!! Thank you for your video!!!

Ben, you should do a seperate video on waking up too early in the night (2,3,4am) and how to address this issue with adrenal cortex. So many people have this problem, This is a huge topic that will gain alot of traction. You obviously did touch on it, but could be more fleshed out. For example, to address this 4am wake-up issue, im not sure if i should be taking the a-cortex even if im not tired in the morning at my normal target 6-7am wake-up time.

Problem is your suggestion for a quick fix doesn't solve the body's problem in the first place. Strong adrenal supplements from the outside are not shaping up your body to a normal homeostasis dynamic. A person could be doing much harm with dependence on an animals adrenaline verses increasing your own hormone production creating a set up for an adrenal crash.
@BELIEVEmiss

Super informative ! I thought that when your stressed out physically or emotionally the cortisol production is high? I guess you mean that with excessive stress the adrenals weaken with time.. hmm interesting ! Also, according to Traditional Chinese Medecin, Waking up at 2 or 3 in the morning could also be linked to a liver being wonky. So super important to avoid cooked fats, refined sugar and coffee!!

Great info. 🙏🏽🙏🏽 Adrenal cortex made me feel much better if I took it 1 or 2 days, but if I took it a 3rd day I’d get a terrible migraine. I can take melatonin or tryptophan every once in a while and it will help me sleep, but if I take it twice in a week I’ll get a migraine. I think this principle applies to all sorts of things we put in our system, including food, chemicals, allergens, etc. I had MCAS and my main acute symptom was migraines. For others it may be a different symptom, but a similar mechanism

Everyone is different indeed. If you wake up feeling rested before your alarm goes off, or when you need/want to get up, then you do NOT need Adrenal Cortex. If you're waking up earlier than you want to by a few hours or waking up really tired, that's when you need to take it.

I'm super irritable in the mornings for like 2-3 hours, so going to try your advice. @DrBenLynch
@DrBenLynch 6 месяцев назад
ha - yeah - watching this at midnight isn't ideal ;) I'd look at having a nice protein dinner before bed. You may have a huge spike of cortisol because your blood sugar is too low in the morning or you are waiting too long to eat. Or you are stressed because you don't like your job, or the commute or something else going on.

Question: if you have had tanked adrenals but have had some reactions in the past to adrenal cortex- more along the lines of buzzing/nervous system stimulation that feels excessive is there a way to use this product effectively without the side effects? I know I need it but struggle to figure out how to use it properly! Thanks again for all you do.
@DrBenLynch
@DrBenLynch 3 месяца назад
You're welcome :) Yes - I'd say that you need to support your stress response vs cortisol levels. I'd look at Stress Nutrients which supports a healthy stress response. Adrenal Cortex supports healthy cortisol levels. You may already have fine or too high cortisol which is what you're feeling when buzzing nervously. Stress Nutrients takes that edge off by supporting a healthy stress response. www.seekinghealth.com/products/stress-nutrients Only use Adrenal Cortex IF you are waking up too tired, way before your alarm goes off or you are peeing too often during the night - or you are traveling to a new time zone. Those are my times when I take Adrenal Cortex - and always with a protein breakfast.

@DrBenLynch
@DrBenLynch 3 месяца назад
Stress does increase cortisol until your adrenals get to the point where you are depleted and running low on the ability to secrete healthy amounts of cortisol. So yes - initially - high secretion of cortisol from stress and then, long term stress, you're going to have lower levels of cortisol. 'Burn out.'

Man that explain some things. I also wonder if it has to do with insulin levels, I’m trying to eat, almost keto, because I do believe fruits in moderation can be healthy, but I’ve had tested adrenal exhaustion in the past, and I know I’m still dealing with fatigue because me, and I almost pass out every time I stand up, and I do have low blood pressure, so it could just be that too, but sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and I’m starving! But I know I eat a decent supper and I have no need to be so hungry. Drives me bonkers. I have not really been forcing myself to eat breakfast, because I wake up, I have a glass of water and some Tudca (I have gall sludge some gall stones) and then I’ll just have a cup of coffee with coconut milk in about a tablespoon of maple syrup and I’m normally not even hungry until maybe one in the afternoon. I have not been taking my adrenal cortex until then . Maybe I should take it when I first wake up I wonder if I could take it with Tudca or if I need to space those two apart…

I think I need this because when I overdo it physically, there’s times where I can’t sleep at night be feel because I feel like I can’t catch my breath. My beats per minute slow down.. and it’s almost like if I forget to breathe when its bad. Kinda if not like sleep apnea. But I always feel uneasy during those times. Turns out I have the compound MTHFR genes. And sometimes I’m fine but sometimes I’m a mess. Especially after I had a few drinks and the days after. Anyone ever deal with this?

Doc, every time my heart rate goes up such as while working out, or a stressful situation, I feel like these adrenaline hits or something that make me feel super stressed, anxious, itchy like crazy (I already struggle with eczema). What’s happening here? Histamine? Think this has to do with adrenals? Thank you

Dr Lynch, what does it mean when your histamine levels are so low that they can't be measured. Mine are so low that the minimum level is still higher than what can be measured. What does that mean? What do I need to be focusing on? Thanks!

Too much cortisol - I'd consider Phosphatidyl Serine to support healthy cortisol levels. Too much histamine I'd consider Histamine Nutrients before bed to support healthy histamine levels. You can use both of these before bed. Thank you so much for such a thoughtful presentation. Question: With regards to adrenal function can MTHFR alone cause adrenal fatigue? Is it a solo contributor in the absence of outside influences or stressors? Reason for asking... I have the MTHFR 677TT mutation and variable results for cortisol. Some years high, some years low. I can tell when my summer tan remains throughout winter or at least how I feel - wiped out - and a lasting tan. Not Addison's. As an FYI and perhaps to spark another topic or two...severe or debilitating MTHFR-related symptoms didn't appear to surface until menopause perhaps due to reduced absorption with one exception, hearing loss at 41, written off as due to childhood ear infections. I now believe folate and B12 deficit caused this based on research. Hearing is somewhat improved although tinnitus remains. Other MTHFR symptoms: dizziness, anxiety, vision disturbances, cervical spondy (resolved w B12), gastritis, and more. Also exploring if pernicious anemia is a factor in my case since Dutch/German heritage and PA is more common in Northern EU. Apologies for the lengthy note! Thank you again for all the education and safe travels!

MTHFR alone - absolutely not. MTHFR can contribute to mood imbalances which then can be triggering to adrenals. I'd consider Histamine Nutrients for your ear ringing as it supports healthy histamine levels. High histamine is associated with tinnitus. MTHFR is associated with high histamine. www.seekinghealth.com/products/histamine-nutrients if your adrenals are pretty wiped out, consider the Adrenal Cortex in the morning along with more salt in your diet.

@@DrBenLynch Thank you so much for taking time to respond. Checking out histamine supplements now via link. Adrenals were likely tanked from work and life (helps to reflect and recall what was going on). Tinnitus certainly adds to stress via hard time hearing.

Hi, I have psoriasis for 3 years. I continue with the steriod cream. It was around this time that I heard about the tsw problem and became aware. I want to quit steroid use. That's when I heard from a conversation with jennifer fugo, who runs the healthy skin show about tsw, that adrenal hormone production can be problematic when it is given up. So if I take seeking health's adrenal cortex will it help? Waiting for your response. Hope that helps.
