Thanks exactly what I have been searching for as my intention is to start decoding all types of digital transmissions. Although I have had a lifetime of playing in radio the new digital modes and an SDR receiver have opened up huge possibilities for the hobby in decoding digital signals, you efforts have been of great help to me thank you and keep them comming most enjoyable regards Kerry
I apparently made the mistake of closing the app for a while. It's not very forgiving. I opened the app back up again and it's now saying a connection cannot be made even though it was working fine 20 minutes previous. :(
Thanks for the great video, just got the RSP1A at HRO and figured it would be capable of the ADS-B and here it is! When I get some time, I will give it a try! So many toys here to play with! :) Looks like your bike is a KLR250? I had one for 8 years and put 30K miles on it, mostly street before I upgraded to the KLR650. 73!
The rsp1a is a great radio. That is a klr250 but I ended up selling it over the winter after having owned it for 17 years...I never rode it anymore....
dso i have to have started the sdruno software? with uno running, dump 1090 is not connecting to radio although it said it sees it, and VR not connecting either and no data being displayed here either. any help appreciated, Tia
another video that fails to show the screen at a readable level, 741 obviously can see what he records but this view cannot and that makes it next to impossible to follow. It also makes it really difficult to find the useful information. One bad sign was using a 2mtr antenna for ADS-B
Another comment that fails to add any value to the discussion. Ram Jet is obviously unable to learn anything on his own and needs to hide this fact by leaving arrogant comments on videos that are above his learning level. One bad sign is the fact that he has not uploaded any videos of his own and has no idea how much time and effort goes into the process. Oh well....
Uh? I critiqued your video, I pointed out that "the screen" (you show) is unreadable to the viewer. You could see the screen, you know what is on the screen but the viewer does not, and, that makes your video next to impossible to follow, unless of course you can see the real screen or have seen it and know what is on it.. Then, there is that use of a 144 Mhz Antenna for receiving ADS-B, it takes about one minute to get the tin snips to cut around a can, drill a hole and solder a coax connector with a bit of copper wire for a real ADS-B antenna. You have idea of who I am and if I have or have not posted videos. So now you can demonstrate to the youtube community your true colors.
Ok - I'll bite. I want to understand where you are coming from. 1st of all, I realize the resolution and audio quality of this video aren't studio quality. I'll be perfectly honest and tell you that I'm not really happy with this myself, however, what I uploaded to RU-vid looks perfectly readable to me. A little fuzzy, yes. But the screen is readable so i decided to post the video figuring that putting something out there, even if the quality was a little off, was better than not putting anything out at all. As of this date there are 56 "thumbs up" which tells me I made the right decision. Your comment of my screen being unreadable seems unfounded or exaggerated. Can you really not see what I'm showing in this video? Maybe you have a playback issue on your end. Concerning the antenna, why does it bother you that I used something other than a "proper" antenna? My 144mhz antenna works, doesn't it? This video was not meant to be the definitive guide on how to do this. I'm simply showing how I went about getting this to work. Your comment implies that because I didn't use a proper antenna this video and my approach is somehow invalid. I'll argue that the use of a non-standard antenna demonstrates that one doesn't have to have a dedicated antenna to experiment with receiving ADSB signals. I agree that a dedicated antenna would work better but mine does work fairly well and I see no problem with showing that in this video. Your "critique" comes across as more of a complaint than constructive criticism. As I said above, I don't have a readability problem with what I'm seeing after watching this back several times directly from You Tube. And I fail to understand why you are upset about my non-standard antenna. Perhaps I'm interpreting the spirit of your comments incorrectly because of this. I looked at your Ram Jet RU-vid page and see no content which is why I question whether or not you really understand how much work goes into creating a video. I really don't have to do this and comments like yours make me question why I bother with it at all. If you really are an expert at video creation and/or SDRs then why not share a link to your videos or other credentials that make you an authority on this subject? I've been demonstrating my "true colors" to the RU-vid community for 9 years now so it knows what to expect from me. Lets see your true colors. Or do you have any?
