Saw the movie last night and it was AWESOME!!!! I love how they changed it up a bit and brought bits of the broadway and animation together. Great performances from the cast. I'm definitely gonna buy this when it's out.

Ely Lee that's definitely not the reason. Robin Williams was the voice actor for the genie. Will smith is actually playing the genie which the cgi looks awful. That's the issue.

The problem is not the Will Smith being cast as a blue genie, the problem is Disney (...and probably Will Smith) insisting that the genie look like Will Smith. They should made the genie look like an individual character, and just had Will Smith as a voice actor.

Hot Take: The REASON WHY we all loved the OG Genie so much is because he was ROBIN WILLIAMS in his full ROBIN WILLIAMS-NESS! The Genie was Robin down to every comedic intonation and intricacy. SO MAYBE why don’t we let the new Genie BE WILL SMITH in ALL HIS WILL SMITH-NESS!!! We love Will Smith just like we love Robin Williams, but they are two different comedians. No one will EVER be able to remake Robins Genie, so let’s give Willie a chance to bring a fresh take (pun intended) on this beloved Character. I hate when people say Live-Action Movies will not live up to the Original. I mean, Of Course, It WON'T. But sometimes it does. And some of the originals are worse than the Live-Action. Felicity Moon Ya well usually remakes aren’t really good. It’s a great movie, but I’m not embarrassed for my views I had before it came out.

This video makes me so mad because the movie is amazing and the actors were great. Will Smith especially, he made me laugh during the movie a lot

I think, if it was Will Smith's voice but a CGI non-Will face, I wouldn't have been so turned off.

My problem is 2 things. 1. You can't really recreate the animated genie's way of doing in life action. There are certain things that just work in animation that don't work in life action. And 2. Will Smith doesn't have the attitude and the act that Robin Williams had. The pretty fast talking, upbeat, quirky style just isn't Will Smith.

My hope is that before this movie comes out, people will have already gotten the jokes out of their system and we can appreciate it. I think it deserves a chance.
