William Gibson is one of the founders of cyberpunk genre. He also wrote the original script for Alien 3 which was adapted as a graphic novel. While he is listed as screenwriter for this movie, apparently, his script was changed and Gibson himself was not happy with how it turned out. The original short story was also very different. Funny enough, it still had drug-addicted cyborg dolphin.
@videogamenostalgia
@videogamenostalgia Год назад
I always think when people in movies go "uhhhh actually my own input specifically was incredible it was just changed for no reason and don't bother asking for evidence of the good version because there is none" it's a bit of a standard cop-out - would probably take it with a pinch of salt.
@diehard7517
@diehard7517 Год назад
@@videogamenostalgia studios cutting films down for no good reason is a common practice that keeps ruining movies to this day, so it's not exactly hard to believe. And when do studios keep original versions of the movie after cutting them heavily? Even Snyder Cut retained most of the original Justice League. I have also read Gibson's short fiction and know for a fact that he can be pretty weird and experimental with his writing, so i can totally see the studio deciding to make the script more mainstream in order to appeal to the mass market. Also, Gibson's original script for Alien 3 was declined for not being creative enough, so it's possible that he learned from this mistake and tried to experiment a bit, which was not something studio was interested in.

Just FYI my sister had Epilepsy and seizures can last for literal hours even days. For her she would have mostly absences which were a few seconds, but could have seizures that lasted for several minutes called grand mal's, they would last well over 3 minutes. It was common for them to last for 10-30 minutes, when we would have to decide whether she needed an ambulance or not. Eventually we got some very strong medication that was for emergencies only. Overall the reality is seizures don'[t have a prescribed "Three minutes and you die" type thing going on. Some people have a small seizure lasting only seconds and sadly pass away and others can have a seizure lasting hours and walk away without issue, this includes an initial seizure scenario. sorry to go all "um acktually" on this but yeah I just heard this stuff so often and it can be dangerous, when someone is having a seizure you have to basically let them just have the seizure, you can't do much unless you have training and even then if it's literally the first time that having a seizure it's prety much 9 times out of ten you have to just wait till it ends. Many of the drugs used for anti-seizure are not great for your body so until you've had a proper diagnosis it's not like you can just pump them with magic siezure go bye bye juice, coz if you get the dosage wrong it can be really harmful.

When was the fax machine invented? The first recognizable version of what we consider the telephone fax was invented in 1964 by the Xerox company, but the technology that led to that advancement was created much earlier. In fact, it was Alexander Baine in 1843 who invented the electric printing telegraph.

Regarding the shitty music score for this movie, apparently the movie was premiered in Japan with a soundtrack by Mychael Danna, but this was "re-composed" by Brad Fiedel for the international release. God knows why - the original music is much better. You can get a taste of it in a youtube video called "Johnny Mnemonic - Deleted Scenes". They were definitely going for more of a Blade Runner vibe.
