I believe IRs were used for reverb before anyone ever thought of using them for modelling speakers. We studied IRs for reverb in my first year at uni, so they’ve existed for at least 20 years. In case anyone’s interested.
I’ve had one of these for three weeks - mind blown (in a good way). There isn’t a delay/reverb/modulation sound I haven’t been able to create with this. It takes some investment in time, but it’s rewarded. My first creation was a custom shimmer reverb (with bells on). And in three weeks I’ve had two firmware updates - with major new modules - including drum triggers and synth VCOs. Can’t recommend highly enough - unless maybe, you want the simplest of plug & play. Should also mention highly responsive support for all my (dumb) email questions - from Loki himself. Quality product from a top bloke.
I have GFI Synesthesia but should I sell it and buy this instead? Seems to have way more features, what I didn't understood is if Beebo and Digit are the same thing just different colour? Or the software on both is not changable so the Beebo is just MODs and Digit is just REV and DEL ? Thanks
It’s really one product with two firmware options that you simply select in the settings menu. While there is some overlap in the modules available in both digit and beebo firmware, digit focuses more on delay / reverb and beebo on modulation. If I recall the synth type stuff is available in both including a granular synthesis module.
Anyone here old enough to remember the Quadraverb 2? Loved that unit (for the time) because of the block-wiring. The Poly seems like the fully realized concept... I don't need it, but WANT.
@@kbirridia yeah and our recording rigs were usually 4 track recorders, like the fostex or tascam - and we looked over with an amorous eye at these massive TEAC reel to reel 8 tracks, imagining them as our dream rigs.
Morning Christopher, thanks for joining us on another episode! Glad you enjoyed the intro jam, the Poly Effects Beebo really helps with getting the ambient tones!
I remember Lee and the guy behind this pedal doing a little demo at Namm. I thought the price was going to be around £500 upwards. I'm happy to see it's been priced quite fairly. I will be ordering one at the end of the week.
Here's the video Pete mentions about how to capture spaces with a balloon pop and a recorder and load them into Digit: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6tZUNiTwE3Y.html recording a sweep works better for capturing external gear like a plate reverb or a tape delay.
You probably dont give a damn but does anybody know of a method to get back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost my password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Jace Eliseo I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
How to make Mick and Dan have an “experience”, using this pedal and some humdingers you could run 8 amps 👍 so stereo surround sound wet/dry rig I want to see it happen.
Opening bit sounds extremely similar to one of the recurring musical themes from the FOX/EPIX War of the Worlds mini-series. Very nice playing as always, Pete.
Convolution reverb in a pedal is amazing - I've used it in Ableton Live for a while, and if you program Ableton Max it seems very similar in some ways to the way the touch screen operates. I feel this is a new epoch in pedals, and long may it last. I'm off to browse the manual.
The reason I'll wait for the MOD Dwarf is the fact that you can't run the Digit and the Beebo simultaneously. It's an amazing unit. But you want both of these things at once - and that means buying two. The MOD Dwarf will put your modulation, reverb IRs, amp sims, cab IRs, drives, software instruments... everything in the same space. And the price is set to be similar.
Can I petition for a signature pedal named Lee Verb? The Cap used the name to save a setting & now I want an actual pedal named that. At least share that setting on their website so I can (in my internal debates) justify buying this pedal =D
Question: I want to run a Beebo in the FX loop of an HX stomp. Will there be enough DSP to run the following signal path: L channel: cab IR -> delay -> reverb IR R channel: cab IR -> delay -> reverb IR ? I want to basically run a stereo cab with stereo delay and reverb off the Beebo.
I've had mine since they were first announced Constant updates from Loki mean Saturday morning are awash with new sounds Some much more functionality not gone into here. Drum machine. Modular synths etc
I sold this Pedal back to Andertons because it is so badly designed. It takes forever to switch on Only just been updated after a year of nothing Despite loads space on the outside of the box it doesn’t have 5 pin midi.(adapters not supplied despite incredibly high price. And what is worse it required different type of midi adapter for in than out) Jacks in and out are stereo when out cables we use are mono Constant complaints on Facebook page of lack of feedback from developer Interface is fiddly requiring a stylus. No auto initial patch. The interface is incredibly complex. Midi is glitchy Only two buttons on the device when the are loads of parameters to adjust… The parameters are so small you need reading glasses to see them. Swapping between different sounds takes a long time in which the machine is silent. This device shows what happens when the engineer forgets the is a actual user at the other end trying to make music and not just another engineer. I learned from this exactly what bad gear is all about the painful way.
6:07 Why is Lee's hand transparent throughout this segment? I'm more than a little disturbed by this. Was it two camera takes and someone messed up the opacity setting? Or...has Lee gone back in time and disrupted the meeting of his parents?
Great demo, thank you a lot :) I am just wondering about one thing: If I understood that right, there is the option to switch between Beebo and Digit. So my question is: If I want to jump through presets by using my effects Switcher (Boss es-8), and if I want to switch from a Beebo to a Digit preset, does the switch via MIDI automatically turn on the right preset on the right mode (Beebo/Digit)?
Yeah, but not that often seen in guitar pedals. The Briscatti is used by some in guitar rigs, but it's not a pedal, and this costs a fraction of the price. Interesting.
Looks like a great device, but sounds so weird that you can't have chorus and reverb/delay at the same time, being dependent on the selected firmware. That's if I understand correctly.
thenihilist Nope but something better might appear. Problem also is being ancient at least to me I might not last that long!!! I will re assess after they are in stock. I did wait many weeks for my new guitar as I wanted EMG pickups in it. Well worth the wait and Andertons did a good job fitting them
@@classicraceruk1337 theres reverbs equally as good as this, that you'll be able to buy on the spot in a store, that you will easily be able to dial in that pink floyd tone.
