So this is where the cloud delay of the SP got its inspiration from. It's crazy how much Mutable Instruments is offering to the community and even to its competitors!
Dude I just randomly found this channel and was stunned because I was like wait a minute is that Benn Jordan the Flashbulb??? been a fan for 13 years since I was 15 man. SUBBED!!
You're the only YT expressionist that makes sense of it all, and the only one that I end up watching the whole vid, even if it's not my thing I watch it because you're a comedic genius, hilariously quirky, and an all round decent chap. Thank you for your clarity.
Killer video - that granular into granular patch was bliss. Coming from a non-eurorack background it was awesome to understand where a lot of the modules come from, and I love the vibe of the channel. Can't wait to check out more vids.
I have this pedal. It currently is not holding a place on my board however.... because I’m finding it to be killer BASS AMP. That’s right boys and girls. It does bass, and it does it very well. It literally does everything. Thank you Digit.
Now THAT's someting I find very interesting. Especially while trying to convince myself that I Should grab one, though I've just had a heavy Xmas and Black Friday splash out ... 😉
So... The RU-vid algorithm showed me those videos of yours that went relatively viral. Now I'm subscribed. Nice, Relaxing informative video with good pacing. Thanks!
pardon the blowing of smoke here, but... in the face of all your knowledgability & musicality & such... the sense of humor, man... really makes this youtube channel such a glorious little corner of the world. bravo!! & thank you!!
Just when I thought I'm save from draining my bank account this month and then this comes into my feed. I love you for that Benn, my man...Whenever you drop a video that goes in-depth into a synth model or other piece of gear...It has almost always been added to my ever expanding collection. You are actually the reason why I got into modular, you and Andrew Huang, made me take that leap...I salute you Benn for being honest and as much of an unbiased person as you humanly could be...Thank you, Benn...
This seems like it’d be right up my alley. I’ve fallen in love with using Mirack (iOS VCV Rack) as an effects processor, ever since they added AUV3 support a few weeks ago. (Drambo is amazing for this as well) .. God I love how fast music technology is progressing lately :)
I understood none of what you wrote and now will be deep diving into all the jargon used as I understood the iOS bit amd am trying to use my iPad in my recording set up….
@@lorrenaelliott161 Drambo is a very powerful modular Groovebox/DAW with an Elektron style sequencer. Very much beloved by fans of Octatrack and other Elektron hardware. MiRack is like a virtual eurorack modular system. (A version of VCV rack for iOS) - where you patch different modules together for synthesis, effects, sampling, sound design. AUV3 is the audio and midi plugin format on iOS/iPadOS - similar to desktop VSTs in form and function.
Great job on reviewing this pedal, its obvious you're knowledgeable (had to google how to spell it correctly) of the topic but in the same time fun and interesting to listen. Can't wait for the new reviews to come and outro really got me!
Creator of mutable instruments Emilie Gillet has called the Red Panda Particle v2 "Clouds" in pedal format, (even though it does not use the MI algorithm). Something I read somewhere, and while searching for this quote I found this instead: Tomkat Pedals "Cloudy". -Btw MI Plaits, is not plates as in device for food, but plaits as in hair because MI Braids.. -A question to anyone reading: What is the most ASMR pedal?
This effect/pedal looks and sounds so good it makes me want to learn guitar haha Great video, great piece of gear, and whole lot cheaper than I would've guessed too!
That's a really nice box of quality fun. Not sure if I could ever learn to use it to my advantage .... but I know the price is very reasonable for what you are getting. Made one at a time by the actual designer, almost too cool!
I would love this, but touch screen = not my bag. Still, I love me some quirky IR's. They make the best textures and sometimes easier than tryna set up a synth patch if you already know what vibe you're going for.
I'm loving this trend of new pedals on your channel. I'm gonna guess that we'll be seeing the Source Audio C4 here soon.. Might swap out Zoia for this Poly Bebo/Digit.
If you can keep both... ZOIA has more options and more user presets as of right now etc.. but both compliment each other enough to have both. Especially the cab IR and convolution IR loading in digit / beebo.
@@BrockDavisson if I can keep both, I definitely will 😄 I'm just eager to try anything similar with a _potentially_ better UI. Also, I just suck at building algorithms lol. Every preset I've downloaded is 100% top notch though, and it's worth it to experience everyone's ingenuity. It's really mind-blowing to see what kind of work people put into it.
Oh, hey, I was born in Acuña in northern Mexico! Also, “perimeter” or “parameter”? Enjoy your vids. Glad I discovered your channel while looking for info on the Poly digit/Beebo.
I hope that the midi IO jacks are wired in such a way that they could be repurposed as clock in and 3 CV's or 4 CV's or whatever you like. But if it's real proper MIDI input it's opto-coupled. Yeah I know you could just use a CV to MIDI module. All the same got one on pre-order...
Poly vs Mod Duo X vs the H9 I see in the background? EDIT: And watched 1 more minute of the video, H9 is cool - but limited IO and older and more expensive. Poly for the win, you've sold me.
Sargent ASMR is so incredibly campy, yet not at all retro, like camp things otherwise always are (at least to me); I love it! Do you mind if I use it as an artist or album name? 22:35 waaaay to slow
Basically, I want one. Great video. Sorry for this additional comment not being relative to the actual content of the video but I hate that I love the shirt you're wearing in this video.
OMFG i been enjoying your videos and I just found out you are The Flashbulb. The last time i heard your music was like 2012, and I remeber saying its cute but I can do it better (being overconfident abnoxiuos teenager glitch music producer) hahaha. Cant believe that I would discover you again after 8 years.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Tyj9WVbXj8g.html "Now if you're watching this and you're thinking to yourself this pedal wouldn't be fun and I wouldn't be able to do much with it, ... Then you do not have a soul" 🤣 haha indeed!
Hi Ben, if you happen to read this - if i'm correct, parameters can be controlled by MIDI-controller, right? And if so, can the MIDI-settings be automatically loaded when loading another patch?
I'm wondering if you'll ever be able to combine modules from the beebo and digit. Probably not. But I would probably sell my hx stomp and buy one of these if you could.
Right to left signal flow? Can this be reversed so it’s left to right signal flow? I feel like right to left signal flow would feel unnatural to Reaktor users
lol, yeah guitar pedals are right to left, so I didn't even bother mentioning it as I feel like we're in their territory for now. But honestly, as a node-based synth fanatic, it didn't bug me at all. I suppose if I had a problem with it I could just move the first module in my chain to the left side.
Oh God so what he is saying is that I can use both the zoia and digit live together on the op1 since he said they cover each other’s weaknesses? Or am I wasting my money buying both. I am asking more about playing live with op1 with the zoia and possibly the digit
I own both Poly Digit and Zoia. I use the Beebo side on Digit exclusively! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S4yezr_VvY4.html So this is what happens when you place the Ottobit in the loops of a pair of SuperEgo+ pedals (in stereo after Hedra!), and place those SE+ loops into the stereo loop of Digit!
Ha ha, the dreaded USB, should be a 50/50, but in my world it's always, well 90/10 WRONG, same way with ungrounded power supplies, get to the plug/outlet and damned if it's not upside down. You would think that there would be a law of averages that governs this. Sadly, this is not the case for some of us, some of us are just destined to go through life fighting the curve, my condolences. LOL !
@@BennJordan oh yea that makes sense for some reason I thought it was out. They all share the same platform so it makes sense to look at what is currently a real product.
the "cop show metaphor" being inappropriate..... man, that made laugh..reminds me comics are getting PC crushed ...your Ben Shapiro ahhh just beautiful!
"Ghetto" is a terrible adjective to toss around in 2020. Just saying, I've been called on it and I now think it's reasonable for impoverished folks to take issue with their neighborhoods being called a synonym for "shitty" in essence.
@@jpsatre Take your pick; any synonym of "poorly made" or "crappy" will do. ...any word that doesn't have such a specific historical significance I mean "ghetto" is a real doozy of a word considering it has both the WW2/Jew and the contemporary impoverished/institutionalized sectioning off of the lower class/minority/immigrant population. I know everyone is offended by everything these days yada yada but after befriending someone who grew up in boys homes in the projects- listening to him describe a childhood and life where everyone describes your home as a synonym for crappy or shitty or what normal people use when "slumming it" (another one) and the effect it had on his psyche- I'll never use the word in that context again.
@@winstonsmith8236 i don’t think “crappy” and “poorly made” encapsulates what he meant. Also, I’m from the Philippines and i don’t get offended by it. I literally live in the 3rd world. So don’t get offended for me. 😂 Anyway, Im still wondering what words is more appropriate in this context.
Nah, keep letting it go on, this word hasn’t found it’s final resting place and it’s history is fascinating. I’m from the hood, and it does suck and it is shitty but it’s also home and when I’m here I wanna get out and when I have before I’m still filled with a warmth and like to reminisce when I come back to visit, and I’ve never once been offended by it’s usage. Occasionally someone uses it in a context that is extremely negative, but it still doesn’t offend me, it just exposes their ignorance and prejudices. It’s only because it has been allowed to exist that it has organically come to be expressed in a more positive light recently like “ghetto fabulous” and can stir a sense of camaraderie in people from there. Languages are organic, living things and should be treated as such and allowed to run their course, not be dictated by this small, over zealous group of social justice/pc warriors. My two cents
