Having my surgery on Monday morning. Scared and nervous but have to do this. Have had pain in the groin area for years, after seeing numerous doctors and getting the same result it’s time. Early 60’s female in decent shape that worked out everyday, had to stop a year ago, lost mobility and quality of life. Need it back. Thank you for this vid very informative. Living in Canada and not costing me anything. Thank you sir.

Good luck to you! I am being evaluated for hip pain. Doing therapy to start but I am at high risk for AVN. Hope everything works out, or worked out for you!

@@p.aragon8398 I’m sure you will be fine, put your trust in your surgeon. I’m already five wks post op. I’m doing very well , started driving again, returning slowly to work and making the best of this journey. Hopefully you will be prepared prior to surgery and get the help you need at home. I’m still waiting to see my doctor for my follow up appointment. Take care of yourself, this forum is great support it has gotten me through scary times.

Please let me Know how you are doing. I will be going through this on my left hip in November. Then as soon as it is healed the right side.. I am scared but excited. I sure would love to hear some more people say it was the best thing they ever did. As I type this I have pain from my hip shooting down my thigh, Av Necrosis sucks!

@@jvmiller1995 I went to see a orthopedic doctor for my left hip. It turns out I have AVN on both sides. One is 60% the right is about 40%. They said to come back when the pain gets worse so that the replacement will last as long as possible, about 20 years. From what I’ve heard from people who actually had the surgery, we should be up and around in a few days. The surgery is pretty straight forward from what I’m told. Good luck to you!

What is the average reaming advancement speed in THA?

I looked hard for the right guy I hope I found someone as good. I go see them the end of the month. I have AV Necrosis in both hips. Not as bad as the guy you shown that was crippled with it but some how I lost blood flow. I have had both hips cut on and a core decompression of the left side 2 years ago. My surgeon wanted to try and get me ten more years. He said straight up if you was 10 years older I would replace both of them. Knowing I would regret it as every story I read on the net said I would not get two years If let him do it.. Well he is not doing anything else to me.

@@enkibumbu Well they said they both need a total hip replacement. The necrosis had tripled in size in my left and the right it is not as big but closer to the edge and the ball has a flat spot right over the necrosis. Both the spacing is narrow. I am getting titanium replacements, the fist one Nov 18th. I am a little scared but also excited to stop some of this pain and get on with life.

I also have AVN in both hips. I have my right side scheduled for Jan 17th 2023. The only thing that I can see that caused my AVN was contracting Covid. I got Covid in Jan 2021 and my hips starting to hurt in July of the same year. I have been seeing more and more articles on Covid causing these issues.

@@nwhitacre Not saying covid cant possible cause this, but I had mine precovid. I just had my first replacement the 28th of Nov. I can already tell it was the right move. I still have a lot of surgical pain but the deep joint pain and grinding popping I had is gone. It is as smooth as butter. I had surgery monday and road a exercise bike the same thursday for 10 min. No matter the cause do not be afraid to get them fixed.

@@nwhitacre AVN is usually from steroids (cortisone, etc.), medicines for asthma, lupus, pneumonia, alcohol, injury, or sometimes nobody knows. Bad problem with no easy fix.
