That's a great way to look at life. I am going to use that positive thought as a positive quote. I am older and heading back to karate after breaking my toes. One of the girls is an 82 year old black belt second degree. I like your station and humor, but I only do daily hiking. I can't wait to hear about your mining adventures trip. @@akwild1 I would like to do a float trip, even if it's just an overnighter. I've been thinking about a few rivers in Missouri. I hope to do more camping and fishing too. And I would like to do some hiking, just not sure where

@@akwild1 Thanks, AK Wild! Climbing over, under and thru the many blowdowns leading up to Aztec I fell and, as it turned out, broke a couple of ribs. I went on until about mile 184 and decided that the pain was serious enough to come down from the mountain and get it checked out (April 22). Got a ride to Palm Springs where I rented a car and drove home to Carson City. Next day my doc confirmed one broken and two cracked ribs along with cartilage damage. Said I need at least 4 weeks recovery. I'm not certain that I will go back to where I left off or just settle for some sections beyond when I am able. I really enjoy your videos and very much relate to your inspirational messages!
Your vehicle security system reminded me of a business trip I took to Nova Scotia. I arrived at the Halifax Airport in early February. I had rented a car. At the rental car desk in the terminal they said the keys were in the car. As I walked out of the terminal to the vehicle, I noticed there were no gates or spikes normally associated with the exit from an airport rental car location. Odd I thought, until I reached the car and found it frozen shut. Sheepishly I returned into the terminal, and the rental car agent said grinning, "Ah, you've discovered our security lockout system, eh?" He gave me a styrofoam cup of hot water with instructions on how to use their "security override." I must admit, their system was sleek and effective. It didn't require the snowdrifts we employ here in mid-winter Western Japan.
I love that idea, Richard. Maybe I can include that technique in my comprehensive auto theft package. This morning I went out to check my water trailer and the tongue was frozen into the ground because of our thaw and freeze cycle. Another idea...

Glen, I think you're right. I got my owls mixed up and I appreciate the comment. Usually this time of year they're so loud they wake us up. One year I had a family living in my woodshed. I'm sad that I've seen very few owls recently. It might have something to do with the Snowshoe Hare crash. Although, the squirrels seem to be combing the woods in battalions.
@@akwild1 That’s really interesting! In southern Canada I’m seeing a lot of owls (ironically the great horned owls seem to be the most popular). Our cities are filled with Cotton Tails, so maybe that’s one of the reasons I’m seeing the owls that much more often in the city. It’s a bit scary if they’re becoming more scarce in our wilds as they make more appearances in urban settings.
