AEA Challenger Pro 30 Cal Slug Power Test - A follow-up video to the popular AEA wood 2x4 power test. Many of you wanted to see this test shot with heavy slugs. @@backyardairguns Cool, I want to send you some armor piercing slugs that'll penetrate 3 of those metal sheets in a row that you were shooting if you care to try them👍 I made them myself with tungsten cores💥😂

@@backyardairguns They were simple to make, I just drilled out the centers of some of my NSA slugs with my lathe and pressed some tungsten cores in them. And man I tell ya, these bad boy's are powder burner powerful!💥👍

Just discovered your channel, I really like your format. I'm a big supporter of AEA. Of my 14 air rifles, 11 are AEA, best bang and quality for the buck, in my humble opinion. I've never had a single issue with any of my AEA's, except usual maintenance things like O-rings. Keep up the great work! MSgt USMC RETIRED

Thank you for your service Bert! I agree with you about the AEA rifles. They are the best bang for the buck, and they hit very hard. I have 5 AEA rifles and I'm always looking to buy another one.

No doubt the challenger pro is a beast & built like a tank. Im shooting 30 grn Zans in 25 cal 983 fps & its tuned down with power to spare. 1 minute of squirrel at 200 + yds

Thanks Raymond for watching and comments. I have some different power test videos coming out later this year that benchmark any gun with with a penetration rating. I think the AEA rifles will outshine some higher price air guns. 🙂

You did great shooting and another great video thank you , I tried shooting 16GA steel plate with 4 different AEA pcp and the only one put hole on that steel plate was .357 cal big 9 82gr pellet , I really hoped one of those slugs you used get the job done but steel plate 16GA is tough

I have one of the vary first Challenger Pro 30cals, mine prefers slugs that are .303 instead of .300 it's giving me 127fpe with a 65gr slug. Im really interested in the new Challenger Pro lb 30cal. Testers are reporting 1000 fps with 30cal 80gr slugs. That's awesome.

I picked up the AEA Challenger PRO Long Barrel in 30 Cal last month, but had not had a chance to shoot it yet. I will do a review on it soon. Where do you get 80g slugs in 30 Cal? I see them in 68g, but never seen them in 80g.

@@backyardairguns Griffin makes 80+gr 30cal slugs. The Griffin 85gr 30cal slug, has a G1 BC .156. That's not too shabby, especially if you can push them at 970fps or so.

Hi there Mike--can you tell me what the barrel band is on you .25 cal I am looking for an aluminum solid piece , as the barrel has a lot of harmonics . I could see this on one of your slug ammo test videos ! I can say it's probably the worst complaint on my aea pro .30 cal rifle because of you happen to bump the barrel of moves along with

They do hit hard. However, I like the NSA 61.5 slugs the best in the AEA. They are stupid accurate.

HOW DO I FIND OUT ABOUT THAT ADJUSTABLE ARKA RAIL , OR HOWEVER YOU SPELL IT . I LIKE THAT, RAIL, AND IVE ALWAYS LOVED THE CHALLENGER PRO IN .30 CAL.

No doubt this is a pretty strong airgun, i own one. I think even before i saw the video what the results would be using hollow points. I think 🤔 you should be using a non hollow point, there's plenty out there that are just slugs, and that would be much better for a penetration test.

I agree that a non hollow-point slug would penetrate better than a hollow point slug. In my video I used some of the heaviest slugs I could find all the way up to 61 and 68g slugs. I know of zero 30 cal pellets or slugs that will penetrate 16ga plate steel. What slugs do you recommend I try? Thank, Mike

How to fix/repair the leak of air? my one the air is leaking from the charge hole, it is not O ring issue as just cannot charge the air. AEA still not reply my email. ps. I only shot not over 10 times.

Why does the cocking lever move when you shoot?

I never noticed that until I saw your comment. I think there is a little play in the cocking handle after it is cocked. When the rifle fires, the recoil exposes that. No big deal for me and does impact the shooting. Thanks for following the channel.

Hey mike, I am doing my testing on your rail & Barrel Bans next. This is for install & laser accuracy between the ban or bans , and the rail & ban combo installed & shooting. Any pressure on the AEA challenger pro barrel changes the accuracy or I can say sight picture on target and bullet hit --? My only complaint about this rifle ? Thx,Bill

What matters is accuracy, shots at 30 meters are ridiculous, if a rifle like that doesn't group well at 50, 80 and 100 meters it's not worth it. You have to make videos to show the reality of the weapon and not to please the inexperienced who are impressed by the power of shots that don't group together.

Fabio, I welcome all comments (both good and bad). :-) The title to this video is Slug Power Test. It was not meant to be an accuracy test, although I did provide 5 shot groups for five different pellets and slugs in this video. I have about four videos on 50 and 100 yard bench rest accuracy and one on accuracy at 200+ yards. I will do some 50 and 100 yard accuracy videos using the AEA rifles in the future. Mike
