So spicy! This is the kind of deck where you know your friends are going to be excited to see at the table. Now I have to go look at your other videos to see if they're anything like this!
I built Aegar as an aggro/damage/control commander because there are so many options in UR that complement that, U counter spells and R damage, plus stompy giants and utility wizards to boot. You can get out and babysit the board and control so much with damage/counter and you're always drawing cards and then just smack to victory.
Tibor and Lumia + death touch seems like an amazing combo. Load that deck with every deathtouch equipment/enchantment and other pingers like goblin sharpshooter. Seems pretty incredible. I'm going to build it!
Aegar is nice. You can go plenty of routes with him. I think giant tribal is 'solid' but lacks trample. Just like the everage Kalemne deck. You also play only one giant per turn most of the time due to the cmc. I think a mix of impactfull giants and simple burn spells will make for a consistent deck. Will build something soon. But it will be a mixed bag of tricks and go wilde.
Does deathtouch factor well into excess damage? Like if you block a 2/2 with a 2/2 with deathtouch creature, your creature only needs to deal one damage to be lethal. Is the other 1 damage excess? This will only matter with the 2 damage pingers I think.
Yeah that’s how it works! If you give Toralf deathtouch for example, the excess damage hammer god is a 5/4 so you hit something and kill it with 1 , you can 1. Deal 4 to their face or 2. Ping 4 other creatures and wipe the board a little
@@HiyaaGeorgie are you sure? I run a tibor and lumia deck with a basilisk collar and i run a fiery emancipation and have aegar for card draw.. I have not been drawing on this because i did not think this is how the ruling played out.
I could be mistaken but I dont think it is possible to get more than one card draw per creature dealt excess damage for each applicable source you controlled that damage to it this turn
@@edhdeckbuilding "Whenever a creature or planeswalker an opponent controls is dealt excess damage, if a Giant, Wizard, or spell you controlled dealt damage to it this turn, draw a card." The Trigger happens when a creature is dealt excess damage, not when a giant, wizard or spell deals damage. If it worked like you suggest it would say "Whenever a giant, wizard or spell you control deals excess damage to a creature or planeswalker an opponent controls, draw a card."
