Also interesting to note Zack was just outside that same door before Sephiroth portals him. So Zack literally could have met them if he had come in instead of sitting on the steps.

Timeliness merge post Holy. Cloud dies and wakes up in Zack's timeline along with Aerith. He's fixed because of the merger, she knows EVERYTHING because of the lifestream. They reunite with Zack and the rest of the team who all thinks they're dead. Off to Northern crater, deal with Sephiroth, happily ever after until altered events of advent children take place. I'm calling it now. If it makes you feel any better, Cloud did save her but Aerith undid it. She needed to die to cast Holy in the lifestream in remake timeline. So in conclusion, after the merge, if will be Holy vs Meteor in remake timeline, Aerith brought back, Clouds fixed mentally and Zack's alive. The ending to rebirth was fucked up but we're only 2/3 through the main story. Trust Aerith, she knows what she's doing.

But Joshua demise in ff16 is even worse than aierth but the final scene in that scene was Gut wrenching to watch especially the flashback scenes of their childhood.

She's dead. She had to die to cast holy it was the only way. This shows that no matter what she did sephiroth would find and kill her but if he killed her at the altar at the forgotten capital holy would be cast saving everyone else. Shes a tragic character , the sacrificial lamb it had to happen. She could die a meaningless death at his hand or save the world with her life. She explored other timelines this was the conclusion of that.

@@DarthPingu07 i dont think cloud reunite with alive aerith. she has to die, but the goddess favoured him, so she created an alternate reality where he saved her. so technically she dies, but like it was predcited in the original game ending, cloud will meet her again in the lifestream. well he kinda did twice. i think they will live toguether in a elseworld apart from the main one.

It doesnt exist, Square enix rarely show kissing in their games, but when they show it carries a great meaning, thats why cloud only kissed Tifa, thats why Cloud and Tifa lives together by the end of the history and Aerith is reunited with Zack by the end of AC, thats why Nojima said in AC revisited ultimania that he was sure that by the end Cloud would be with Tifa and they would return to their home with their family, thats why Nomura said in the same ultimania that Clouds promissed land was there with his family and friends. Stop shipping and play the games and read the books then you will see what is realy canon.

In the OG Aerith knew Cloud with his fake faccade persona for two weeks and died by disc 1, so she never knew the real cloud by disc 2. In OG after aerith dies by the end of disc 1 she isnt mentioned again until the end of the massive disc 2 when the group is talking to bungenhagen about Holy, the remake brought a new air for Aerith (after remake she became my third favorite character but in the OG she wasnt), but the game will still focus in aerith as the main character who sacrifices herself to save the world and will still focus in Tifa beeing the one for Cloud, the one and only who could bring Cloud back, in aeriths words in 20th ultimania, it was Tifas role to heal and bring Cloud back and it was Tifas role to live by Clouds side and take care of him and take care of the uper side of the world with him as well.

That's just an excuse that the original purists say, it didn't work the first time killing her off, and it didn't stop Sephiroth or Jenova , also it won't work this time either, and we still have one more part to go yet.

you have to be like 12 to be thinking like this. zack was her FIRST love. he was the first guy she liked and dated. he disappeared and she never heard from him again, 5 years passed and then she met cloud and developed feelings for him so currently she likes cloud, it's not really a hard concept.

Tifa is not the main girl though, she's a fan service character, mostly popular with western gamer's, Aerith is the main heroine and mostly popular in Japan.

Is the ‘most into character’ the most important to the story? I never go for what people like the most.
