Thank you! They’re self paced; you can walk a little if needed, but if an MTL passes you they’ll yell at you to run😂 also the more you walk, the more it hurts better back. It’ll get easier each time tho

@@Julieschannel222 thank you sooo much girl i was like whewww na 🥲😩 i cannot run 3 miles straight right now but im on the 14 week AF pt prep plan they have on their website. i’m on week 8 right now and the cardio parts are getting easier. i’ve just never been a good runner & have always said i could never do it but im really pushing myself. i really appreciate the response girl!! 🩷 you’re killing it

@selinamiser I couldn’t do it at first either, but with practice & someone to run with it didn’t end up being that bad. You got this 💪🏼

No, not unless it’s required for your job training, like security forces for example

You can always wait, you don’t have to agree to any job you don’t want to. It might have you waiting a really long time tho, so it depends on you & how fast you want to leave. If you pick a job, after 3 years in service you also have the option to cross train into another job

I swore in in January, got my job late feb/early March and then I left at the end of April. It all just depends on the needs of the AF and the availability for BMT. Don’t settle for a job that yk you’ll hate tho! I could’ve left earlier in April, but it wouldn’t have been the job I really wanted. Once I found out I was accepted for my #1 job I took it, but it had me leaving a little later

Yes, eventually! You do have to start off at your first assigned unit, finish CDCs, and then talk to your leadership about shredding out. Definitely something you can do, but it won’t be an immediate thing, so just mentally prepare for that

My plan was to go to Air Force as a reserve so I can go to school for a Neurodiagnostic technologist in a civilian world, but if the airforce already has the program I might as well do that, as long the airforce job Neurodiagnostic technologist can transfer into civilian world. Or I can pick a different job non medical I like in Air Force as reserve, then go to college in civilian world. What would you say for someone like me who is going through something like this?

Yes they do! 21 days is 21 days, they don’t care if you’ve started classes yet or not :)

Go for it!! And I’m not 100% sure I’d ask a recruiter. I know you’ll get assigned your job based off the needs of the military. Plus, as far as the 4N0 courses, the only way you can skip the NREMT program is if you’re nationally registered, state ones don’t count. But it would help you academically having that prior knowledge

When finishing tech school for 4N you’ll have about half the credits for an associates degree within the CCAF

No, you will get certified in tech school if you pass the NREMT test! You have 3 chances to take it.

You don’t need any prior medical experience to be in this career field, or any experience for the jobs you’re interested in at all

You can either go to school as a civilian, become a nurse, and enlist as an officer. You can join, go to school, apply for the NECP program (very competitive) & then you’ll commission as an officer. Or just join, get your educational benefits, get out & go to nursing school.

I’m active duty, so no. But if you’re reserve or guard, then your schedule will look similar to that

Is phase 2 where you get sent to a different base for the "clinical" side of it, like how you said you could be sent to CA, NV, FL, or one of the other bases? or is that a separate couple of weeks after phase 2? Sorry for all the questions haha, i ship out dec 13!

Maybe not thru the gate, I’m not sure. But I think it would be a waste of money depending on how far it needs to be towed. At fort Sam you’re not allowed in a car for about a month, so I’d just wait

@@Julieschannel222 i’m prior army combat medic & recently joined the air force. they told me my dates are may8-aug15 which seemed awfully short. to my knowledge i am not skipping emt phase/phase1?? any clue on why the dates they gave me are so short?

@@ellikim2519 that’s correct, my class was July-Oct. That’s just for phase 1, you’ll be given another base for phase 2 that’s 6 weeks long
