I don't know what the point of airing the footage is. The most stinging comments Punk made were that Tony isn't a real boss, AEW isn't a real business, and the allusions that they're not really in the pro wrestling business. So what's the operative idea? If it turns out Punk was not truthful or not correct about the confrontation with Jack Perry... what? That means Punk was wrong about everything? That's not how it works. Proving he deserved to be fired doesn't prove you're not mismanaging a company that's starting to sink.

The fact that Khan would show any version of the footage absolutely validates what Punk was saying about AEW no longer being in the business of making money, selling tickets, producing compelling stories, and creating stars. Everything is great (*ding*) according the former Booker of the Year up until someone tells a little too much of the truth. After all, if Punk were such a liar during that interview, what is the point of responding (as a shoot) to his interview at all? Now you're going to spend a second week of your flagship show to focus on what this supposed lying liar malcontent (who you claimed to have fired for cause and who works for the #1 wrestling company in the world) said in a shoot interview. This just makes Tony Khan and the Jacksons look like a couple hit dogs hollering.

Either way, this is a ratings ploy. This could have been released on the company's website or x, but to put this on dynamite is just a way fet everyone to tune in. Punk didn't go on rant on Monday raw about this. He was asked this question by Ariel, the same person who asked tony about the incident and he said, "I can't speak about it " but i guess he can show the footage now.

Ok, regardless of whether it is genuine footage or not, all this will do is pop a rating. It's not going to increase viewers for weeks afterwards. As Jim Ross said, they need to move on. Ultimately, nothing good will come of it either side and hardly any fans will care by the following week.

How does TK think this footage will change anyone's opinion? Phil spoke on months of TK and his lackluster leadership and his inability and imcompetance to handle backstage issues that lead to Phil having a breaking point. It really doesn't matter at this point if he flew off the handle and tried to choke Jack Perry, something he doesn't at all deny. I think everyone, especially those that have worked in a work environment where leadership is toxic as fuck, understands where Phil is coming from and why this was his breaking point. So nothing is going to change the fact that TK is still worthless as fuck and the AEW ran like a clown show. This backstage flair up is just a product of those issues.

At 3:50, Dave Meltzer is 1 million% correct on this statement: "We will see what the footage says. I will presume that this is airing because there is proof that what Punk said wasn't true.. and... you know it's.. that the thing. My sentiment after the incident was that Punk did exactly what was necessary to be fired because in his mind with all the backstage problems he was done with AEW

This is a no-win for AEW. If it's not the real footage, it just strengthens Punk's "I work with fucking children" stance AND it calls into question why Tony would sign off on doing segment taking the piss out of an event that apparently had him "fearing for his life". If it *is* the real footage, and it's clearly not cut (and therefore raises a bunch of suspicions about why), then what does it show? That the entire backstage crew are all terrified of a "fragile, injury-prone embarrassment that couldn't hack it in MMA" (unless it's time to go with the OTHER stance - that's he's an unhinged, uncontrollable psychopath, cos it can't be both)? That Jack couldn't handle someone twice his age that's no longer with the company anyway? Like, what's the expected outcome here? You think WWE is gonna see it and fire him? It's kinda funny that Unka Dave talked about this hypothetically happening in WWE. Can anyone even imagine this happening in WWE? In WWE, job guys would never even imagine publicly mocking the biggest star in the company, because they would know that they would be immediately fired, even if the star choked them out. WWE would never keep a job guy over their biggest star, no matter what the star did. WWE is a real business that wants to make money. The fact that this incident even happened proves Punk's point.

Punk called AEW a clown show that is not a real business. Regardless of what the footage shows, this incident would have never happened in a professionally run business with functional leadership. Even if the footage proves Punk is lying about the events, it still proves that he is right about AEW. AEW is clown show.

I think some people aren't paying close attention to what Punk said in his MMA Hour Interview( including Dave and Bryan) because I don't really know what this will do for AEW in the end because the situation with Perry STARTED on Collusion, and ended at All In. If the goal here is to DISPROVE CM's punk's version of events, that ain't going to do you any good because when Punk shot down Perry's idea about using REAL glass they didn't IMMEDIATELY start fighting each other. Perry didn't make a stink out of it until the PPV. In the interview, Punk said he was 'calm' (Punk was calm) when the idea was initially shot down, but Punk clearly admitted to "choking" Perry out at All In, so what exactly are we trying to prove here? Is it just to give people a visual on what happened since everything is just based on hearsay? Why is AEW responding to things OUTSIDE of the current storylines going on in the product? You can't call someone out on a lie when there are two different, but related events here. Punk literally admitted to fighting Perry, there is NOTHING that can disprove him shooting down the intial pitch for glass though.
