I am watching as many of these as I can to learn where mine will need to be. I am pretty sure I am leaking compression passed my injectors. I figured I would upgrade while in there. I see now I'll need to tinker with the pump a bit.

Thanks man. I wasn’t sure if people were going to be interested in this kind of crap my videos aren’t made to shock or entertain lol… so i wasn’t sure if anyone would be interested… I actually have a bunch I recorded today of me actually modifying the AFC and showing you exactly what to do. I think I’m gonna post it up. stay tuned

I had a buddy that told me I should be posting these videos so people could use these tips and tricks so I’m just kind of throwing it out there. If you have any specific questions let me know and I could explain in future videos. there’s tons of free power to be had with these old trucks.

I just put a t66 on my 12 valve pump 5x16 injectors afc full moded full forward and seems to not spool like the hx35 any idea?

Nice video. Do you know how to replace the air fitting on the afc rear cover? I notice the afc you're using has a brass fitting. I have an air leak from the original one and can't seemed to figure out how to remove it.

it’s pipe thread fittings. just counter clockwise and they come out.

Good video... I plan to try out an afc live set up. Their dyno results blew my mind. Have you ever heard of running a BBC mechanical pump on a 12 valve ?

Are you talking about a low pressure lift pump that supplies fuel to the injection pump?

@@coalstang A truck I was looking at was set up like that. I know the bbc fuel pump does look similar to the diaphragm style you see on a 12v. I don't know, he run the truck as a hot shot truck so no telling. He did explain he had a line plumbed to the bottom of the fuel tank with a Holley pushing fuel up stream to the lift pump. Had the holley only on a switch, which made it easy to bleed the lines etc. Lol. Cool dude, knew his stuff but we all got our own taste I guess.

@@here_to_watch2115 Yeah it’s the same bolt pattern as the mechanical fuel pump off the gas Chevy engines. But the stock mechanical pump that comes on a Cummins I have seen people make up to 700 hp to the tire and they’re crazy cheap on Amazon and it’s a direct bolt on. The VE engines have a similar diaphragm style to the gas engine looking fuel pumps. The P 7100 trucks need about 30 to 40 psi and the VE engines max you want is about 14 psi. So I’m sure you could run anything as long as you get your pressures correct. The VE pump I have heard stories that if you go much above 14 it’ll blow out some seals but the P 7100 pumps I have heard guys going up to 120 psi and no issues

@coalstang tighter on the lash? Like 9 and 19 thousands? Instead of 10 and 20? I love this balling on a budget. I already bought a fass but I am considering working my stock lp over a bit . You're videos are explained adhd to the max just how I like em.

thank you! yes i have gone as tight as 5 and 13 on lash. this was almost 20 years ago now but if i recall correctly i measured when hot and i’m pretty sure the lash grew. it didn’t shrink. i was surprised. i would have to test this again but 5 and 15 no problem at all. it’s such a minor change. really in the big scheme of things … we just need to ensure the valve closes to seal combustion chamber.. and closes to allow the valve to transfer heat to the seat. essentially we can have .001” lash and things are happy. the lash grows with heat from what i have seen on the cummins. the engineers know a mechanic can error 2-3 thou when adjusting valves so moving 5 is minor in my opinion.

Since we have the hate speech fossil fuel ⛽ people running the gov. What can you do to improve fuel economy rite now economy more important than raw power now with diesel ⛽ fuel shortage scares are on the horizon if you got any information it would be a big help thanks

I actually have a whole list of things that I do to the trucks and I get absolutely amazing fuel economy when I’m done. I usually can hit 21-25mpg depending on if it’s a 2wd or a 4x4. lots of little tricks and tweaks. 195° thermostat is one trick. 18-20° timing. max Air pressure in tires. synthetic gear oil 75/90. tuning AFC really conservative.

@@coalstang bought my new 1996 it got 20 mpg don't know what's it's getting now I let it set for 6 years just drag it out of the weeds what a disaster mice messed up the cab but it still runs like a top parked it cause it had head gasket leaking water death shake paint was down to bare metal and break lines were all rusted but got it all fixed I think
