Super in-depth non biased review by the maestro of reviews and nice to see you in our home town of Warwick. There’s no doubt room for a ‘basic’ low cost MH in this ever increasing expensive market but you certainly wouldn’t buy it on looks.
Thanks Pete, good to see Elnagh back on our shores. Well specced for entry level with some thoughtful touches. At Last! A Pug with an auto box, love it!! I'm sure they'll be a popular option for those looking at the likes of Rimor. I'm hoping you'll soon be looking at the Roller Team new additions - both Pegaso & T Line 750 plus I have a feeling the Kronos 590 will have it's elbows out competing against the British built slimline & not so slimline 6m coachbuilt models.
A folded towel will soon sort that rattle on the shower door. The starter pack is a good idea. It saves you going to an accessory store and then going back again for the item that you forgot.
All I seem to seem to be seeing lately is problems with new build vans whatever the price. At least you'll be more acceptable if it's budget to start with . I'm looking for an older van with some money set aside for repairs as it appears to be a better bet
It could be better if it didn't have the drop down beds, a single bed up cront made up with a removable table & a transverse double at the rear. Too many ladders in the way for night time visits to the loo. Drop down beds seem ok on the face of it but when they go wrong look out!
This video did make me laugh out loud (lol). Imagine getting a framed window at this price point. I'd rather spend that sort of money on a decent nearly new 2 years old low mileage, mh. The rear lounge looks like a basic mobile rest room on site workers would use to drink their tea. That is the very appealing, lounge area, I mean lol.
It is good to see some new brands coming (or coming back) to the UK market. Apart from Elnagh, we've had Globe-Traveller, Affinity, Robeta, Panama and very soon MegaMobile and VanTourer. We just need Randger (for the R550) and La Strada to come back now!
The Sevel base vehicles are cheap by modern standards, the motorhome manufacturer pays no more than £15000 to £18000 for the base vehicle. The build cannot be more than £15000 (bearing in mind the buying power of Trigano) how can this be nearly £70000, double the average salary in this country. It would not be so bad if the vans were reliable and the build quality top notch, but the build quality of modern motorhomes is horrendous and the vans are cheaply built and prone to engine issues.
Watch Peter's last video where he follows a base vehicle down the line until it becomes a complete motorhome and you will start to appreciate the work that goes into building them. That was a van conversion taking several weeks and a considerable amount of expensive equipment. It's not just a matter of buying a van and bunging in a B&Q kitchen etc.
Even Sevel vans are not cheap in the post-Covid world and component prices have shot up. There's a factory to run (imagine the energy bills!), staff to pay, dealers need a profit margin...
The old Fiat grille was prettier, these new ones are more modern but look like they cost a lot less to produce. The Peugeot is the least worse of the three in my opinion.
