I remember them having to do some sort of unexpected parts swapping when working on the diffs. Was it the rear one that they had to modify using parts from the front? I can't remember which one they had go mess with.

@@Michael-rg7mx well for one he wanted more clearance so they did fix it like he wanted it and that's not for off-roading it's to be able to get better flotation on the sand cuz they would have fixed that thing stock. It would have been stuck in them lake beds. It's more capable and even though it looks taller it's not more than likely to flip over because of the way the wheel base is

@helium5912 Remember that this was the effort of several shops, salvage yards and parts shops, and a fan of the channel provided a whole replacement body. The original Golden Nugget got T-boned, and the whole left side of the body was sheet aluminum riveted to what remained of the original steel.

Paul and all of the Fab Rat's, you are amazing. Your positive attitude about overcoming any problem that inevitably crops up on such a challenging project like this is inspiring. You and your partners on the project at Matt's Off-road Recovery, Robby Layton's Auto Body, Colt at Bleepin' Jeep and many others, have all done an amazing job, resurrecting and taking Ed's Golden Nugget from what it was after sitting stuck at Ed's mining claim in the Sierra Nevada's for 40 years to what it is today, which is better than new.

And that's why a real builder like you hammers the thing around for a bit, not just around the block. Better it break on the builder than the customer. You'll figure it out, fix it and have a good lesson for everyone in the next video. I love seeing how everyone came together to build this thing so quick for Ed. Looking forward to the next one!

Watching you drive this brings back memories. In high school in the 1980s I drove an LJ80 -796CC of raw side draft power. I'm extremely broad shouldered and had a friend who was even more so. When driving together, the top of the doors were literally bowed out a good 1/2 inch on either side. Made shifting and steering interesting but had a blast doing it. I haven't had as much fun in any vehicle I've owned since. The project is looking great, I can't wait to see Eds reaction when he finally sees it!

Detach from this world and the distractions/pleasures in it.This world and the things in it are temporary, spend your time doing something that will matter in the long run. Do as much as you can to help other people while you are here so that you are ready to face Jesus on judgement day. The last 3000+ years of human history have been a testimony in favor of God's word. Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the son of God and can tell the future or make it happen B) The world leaders/governments/nations etc have been conspiring together to accomplish this roadmap set in place by the Israelites or C) History as we know it is fake despite the archaeological evidence. You don't really need to speculate though because you can start a relationship with God and have proof. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life - Revelation 3:20. The world is rapidly passing away and eventually you will have to stand before God on judgement day and explain to Him what you have done with your life. Make sure you are making every effort to help others while you can

I can see it now. The old man when seeing it the first time will smile and nod, but in his head saying I ain't driving that old piece of crap anymore. It's noisy and uncomfortable. I'm too old for this. But the young guys, who made a fair amount of money from RU-vid revenue, will be jumping up and down, high fiving, and smiling ear to ear. What a great job we did! Thanks Ed, for being our patsy, aren't you excited? Sure. When you get old you realize some things are best left in the past.

Paul and Ben drive the Golden Nugget multiple times after very FIRST diagnosing the loud, annoying roof bow rattles...followed by the coolant leak, needing to vent the radiator catch can, adjusting the shifter, bleeding the brakes and adjusting the timing. But instead of cutting two small pieces of clean cardboard and bending them in the middle to create a soft wedges to slip in and quiet the metal roof bow rattles, they drive it several more times WITH the annoying loud roof rattles. That's funny. Hi Michelle, you rode that electric bike like a boss on gravel and dirt, you're awesome! Randall...you will be missed buddy, your humorous comments during videoing were little golden nuggets themselves, visit often on camera. ;)

Glad to see the nugget on the road and running. First test drive is where you’ll find things that need to be fixed or adjusted. Sucks that the rear end locked up but you’ll get it taken care of. Glad nothing bad happened when it locked up. The rear on my 90’ GMC jimmy locked up on the highway while doing 70 and that was SCARY!!!! I had to put it in 4x4 to break it so I can get off the road. You guys got this!!! Can’t wait to see the nugget with the bike and trailer all together. Keep up the great work guys! God bless!

I broke a few diff's in my day, but that reminds me of when the rear end broke on my '77 Monte Carlo going down the highway. It was kinda uneventful in my case, tho, kind of a "clunk" and then no propulsion. I'd hit the gas and the car would just twist. Coasted to the side, tried forward and reverse, eventually, it broke loose and the drive shaft would just spin. Being 2wd, tho, meant I was walking, lol. In my case the bolt holding the spider gear shaft(whatever that's called) sheared, the shaft slid back and forth until it caught on something, then it snapped and the gears just ate themselves up after that. R&P was fine, but one of the spiders was literally snapped in half.

@@l337pwnage ugh that sucks! I was scared cause my truck just slid in the lane when the wheels locked up and it was on a main highway with a lot of truckers. Once it stopped I put it in 4x4 rocked it back then floored it forward and boom busted that sucker up and drove off the highway. I didn’t wanna get stuck on the highway.

Oh guys, I got excited yesterday when I watched Robbie and his crew finish off the Rocon, Golden bike and now just the thought of Ed actually receiving his motors is making me emotional and excited. The Golden Nugget looks absolutely outstanding and quite sporty with those lovely tyres. I am so sorry your happiness has been dented given all the hard work you have all pout into this project. Fix the back-up light too. It wasn't working when you was backing out of the shop at 0:42. It lit when Chad wired it up. IIRC, you made a shift cable adjustment after that. I suspect the back-up light switch isn't engaging when in reverse now.

Boy the Nugget has come along way thanks to a lot of hard work from all of you. I know you will get the bugs worked out. Nothing you guys can’t fix. Thank you guys for bringing us along on the journey. Ed sure is blessed with great friends and I know that is what he will appreciate more than anything.

We're so glad to see you guys ride down the road n it Paul you Ben and Randell have put 1,000's of hrs in the nugget thank you for the very hard work . That sucks that the rear end locked up

Yaaaa, I am so happy to see it drive and that much closer to the "delivery" date. I hope the rear end issue is easily fixable, and don't forget about the rattles on the roof ribs.

Hopefully they didn't forget to add gear oil? It's nice cause they do it twice.

Sounds like it either lost or didn’t have gear oil in it or something worked itself loose and the pinion shaft bonded up

Rattle is because it needs motor mounts. Everything else is about this build is perfect

My God this is a beautiful build, Paul, Matt, Bobby, all the help getting parts, such a great effort and result. Ed will be so happy. I would add a high end interior lockable secure trunk for tools (miners pan, pick, Gold storages, and snacks) and an integrated dual cup holder and call it complete!

1:19...it's got 4 big stone-throwers on it. Consider some anti-stone-thrower guards on the wheel-wells to help protect the great paint... or don't we care?
